Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Hewitson L - Trainer: Tarry S

RAIN IN HOLLAND is one of the better bets on today's card. She produced a promising debut effort over 1450m on the Inside course. She raced from a handy position and despite racing green, she stayed on nicely to finish second. The daughter of Duke Of Marmalade found betting support that day which suggests that she had been showing good work back at home. She would have come on from the run and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should take a power of beating.

Jockey: Yeni M - Trainer: Soma J

GOT THE GREENLIGHT produced a cracking comeback run when finishing second in the Grade 2 Hawaii Stakes last time. He challenged strongly all the way to the line that day, but found one too good in the form of Mk's Pride. He has won twice, finished second once and third once from six starts on this course. The son of Gimmethegreenlight should strip much fitter this afternoon and will take a power of beating.

Race 7: WAR OF ATHENA (1)
Jockey: Yeni M - Trainer: Matchett P

WAR OF ATHENA was ultra-impressive when winning the first two legs of the Wilgerbosdrift Triple Tiara. The manner in which she won the Grade 1 SA Fillies Classic suggests she should have no issues with the rise in distance this afternoon. The daughter of Act Of War is a class above the rest of this field and should find herself in the winner's enclosure for the eighth time.

Race 8: MALMOOS (1)
Jockey: Ferraris L  - Trainer: De Kock M

MALMOOS was ultra-impressive when winning the Grade 1 SA Classic. Despite hanging from the 200m mark, he drew clear with ease. The son of Captain Al is bred to enjoy the step up in distance and he should win the WSB Triple Crown.

Jockey: Kennedy W Trainer: Peter P

THE CONTRACTOR ran a decent race when finishing third in the Non-Black Type Gold Rush Sprint last time. That was his first start with the blinkers fitted and the headgear remains on today. He makes his stable debut today and takes a drop back in class. If settled into his new surroundings, he should return to winning ways.
