NEWS: Tshegofatso Mabasa scores hat-trick as free-scoring Orlando Pirates raid Golden Arrows

The Buccaneers came into the encounter after a defeat to an in-form Sekhukhune United after a goalless draw against cross-town rivals Moroka Swallows. however, they returned to match-winning form in emphatic fashion against Arrows on Saturday.

The Sea Robbers raced into a 3-0 half-time lead through goals by Mabasa, Relebohile Mofokeng and Kabelo Dlamini as Arrows were put to the sword from the onset.

The home side continued their dominance after the interval with Mabasa getting his second of the game before Sandile Mthethwa also got his name on the scoresheet to make it 5-0.

Arrows pulled a goal back through Lungelo Nguse but that was as good as it got for the visitors as Mabasa completed his sensational hat-trick in the 78th minute.

Karim Kimvuidi then came off the bench to put the icing on a convincing win as Pirates clinched all three points to remain in contention for CAF Champions League qualification.
