DIAMOND SOARS is the likely pacesetter. He meets a moderate field in this opening contest and may be difficult to peg back in the run down to the line. DAILY TROPHY switches to the All-Weather track and should strip much fitter after his comeback effort. SPANGLE FORTUNE is next in line.

CHARMANDER won his last start narrowly defeating Perfect Peach. He remains in Class 5 and can follow up on his recent victory. INVINCIBLE MISSILE finished a length behind the winner at Happy Valley last time. He is holding form well and can run into the money. HARRY’S HERO can upset.
08:00 – Race 3 | Class 4 | 1200m

POCHETTINO finished 2.8 lengths behind SUPER LEGENDS last time and interestingly the pair meet on the same weight terms. MACANESE MASTER is a former Macau-trained galloper and can feature if putting his best foot forward. He comes in at the top of the weights and apprentice Matthew Poon will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
08:30 – Race 4 | Class 4 | 1200m

SONIC BOOM finished 1.8 lengths behind REGENT GLORY last time. The pair meet on similar weight terms and there shouldn’t be too much separating them in the run down to the wire. HAPPY TANGO was a narrow winner on turf last time. He is also suited to the All-Weather track and can back up his recent performance.
09:00 – Race 5 | Class 4 | 1400m
Selections: 2/12/7
FIGHTING MACHINE has finished close-up behind the winner in recent outings. Zac Purton knows him well and he should be involved in the fight to the finish. AFFIRM is likely to adopt frontrunning tactics and he could try steal the race if allowed a soft lead. MR ENERGIA won on the All-Weather track last time and has scope to make his present felt once more.
09:35 – Race 6 | Class 4 | 1400m

NORTHERN BEAST recorded back-to-back wins before the break. He has cracked a neat draw and the hat-trick is on the cards. The only concern is that he prefers racing at Happy Valley. FORERUNNER finished 2.8 lengths behind AMAZING RUN last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights and should finish closer as a result.
10:05 – Race 7 | Class 3 | 1200m
Selections: 1/3/2
BOTTOMUPTOGETHER is unbeaten from three starts on this course. He may still be ahead of the handicapper at this stage of his career and can extend his winning streak. EQUATORIAL has four-year-old Classic aspirations and he is a horse worth following. He could be one to fill the exacta spot.
10:35 – Race 8 | Class 4 | 1200m

KING OBERON has finished runner-up in his last two starts and is knocking on the door. He looks nicely weighted in this Class 4 contest and definitely represents decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. HAROLD WIN has consistent form and only missed by a neck last time. He will be looking to make amends and can give the top selection a good run for his money.
11:10 – Race 9 | Class 3 | 1600m

VOYAGE SAMURAI has solid form on this course and is difficult to oppose. He should get across from the wide draw without using up too much energy and Derek Leung will give him every chance. FORTUNATE SON found one better in his first run at Sha Tin and the booking of Zac Purton to ride is a big plus.
11:45 – Race 10 | Class 3 | 1400m
Selections: 2/1/9
KING MILES racked up three wins last season and if overcoming the wide draw, he should go close to winning the lucky last. He is unbeaten under Vincent Ho and the combination will be looking to keep that stat intact. GREEN N WHITE’S form was good before given a six-month layoff. He can show if returning fit to the races. PRINCE OF PORTY is next best.
