HAYDOCK PARK
Race 6 No5 GIVEMEFIVE (Nap)
Trainer: Harry Derham – Jockey: David Probert
GIVEMEFIVE makes abundant appeal in this stayers’ handicap and on a first run on the Flat for his trainer. He took out a couple of juvenile hurdles and was narrowly denied in the Adonis Hurdle at Kempton, then skipped the Triumph to run at Fairyhouse, where on a final outing over jumps he claimed a minor cheque. A winner on the Flat in Ireland, he rates the best bet on this card.
Race 8 No5 BOARDMAN (Each Way)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan
BOARDMAN needs things to go his way and was never in the hunt after missing the break on his latest start at Chester. In this smaller field there can be no excuses, and as a well-handicapped horse he can outperform his double-figure price.
WORCESTER
Race 2 No4 WEVEALLBEENCAUGHT (Nap)
Trainer: Christian Williams – Jockey: Jack Tudor
WEVEALLBEENCAUGHT is the most interesting horse on view at this meeting as he debuts for a new trainer. The seven-year-old looked a fine prospect for fences when running on Grade 1 company as a novice over hurdles, but after two encouraging runs over fences at Cheltenham he was unable to back it up in top handicaps. He remains a horse with the ability to land a decent pot, and could outclass his opponents.
Race 3 No7 POTTERS CHARM
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies
POTTERS CHARM steps up in trip on a first outing over hurdles after running right away with a Ffos Las bumper. One of the nicest young prospects from her powerful stable, she’s more than ready for this return to the fray and can be backed to take the spoils.
WOLVERHAMPTON
Race 7 No2 ONSLOW GARDENS (Each Way)
Trainer: Richard Hannon – Jockey: Joe Leavy
ONSLOW GARDENS put in an eye-taking return from a summer break when just out of the money at Kempton when starting as a 66-1 no-hoper. The four-year-old was beaten just a length and three-quarters when in need of the race, and granted normal improvement should be able to stake a claim for this low-grade handicap in which he’s fancied to go well.
Race 8 No4 LOST IN TIME (Nap)
Trainer: Dean Ivory – Jockey: Jimmy Quinn
LOST IN TIME and Darkzideofthemoon are peas out of the same pod. It’s short odds that one of them will take the spoils and I just prefer the former, who goes well for his veteran pilot and wasn’t far away at Lingfield last time. It’s only his third visit to this track, and from a gate next to his rival should be able to shadow and strike.
