Sirino joined Chiefs before the start of the 2024-25 season after spending five seasons with Mamelodi Sundowns.

The 33-year-old made his debut for Amakhosi in their league opener against Marumo Gallants on 14 September. He was instrumental in the team’s 2-1 win over Dan Malesela’s Marumo Gallants.

He continued with his brilliance this past Wednesday where they made quick work of AmaZulu, thrashing them 3-1.

Sirino scored a screamer from outside the box against Usuthu and provided an assist for the third goal by Miguel.

Amakhosi signed Miguel from Angolan giants Pedro de Luanda before the start of the season to strengthen coach Nasreddine Nabi’s squad.

The defender described Sirino as a fantastic player who brings a great deal of experience that will be useful for Chiefs’ attack.

Sirino’s impact is already showing as Chiefs have scored five goals in two matches.

“Sirino brings us a lot of experience you know, he’s a fantastic player, high-level player as he has shown at Mamelodi Sundowns, he’s now proving at Kaizer Chiefs, that he brings many different things in the final third,” said Miguel during the pre-match press conference.

“A lot of creativity, like yesterday’s goal [against AmaZulu] for example, some wouldn’t believe he would score but from nothing, he got this fantastic goal and with his quality pass he made a good assist, he will give a lot to this team to improve also.”

Chiefs have a tough task ahead of them of overcoming the defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday at FNB Stadium at 15:00.

They are heading to this match with a score to settle having suffered a 5-1 thrashing when they last clashed with Sundowns at the same venue.

The 28-year-old is familiar with Sundowns having been part of the Petro de Luanda squad that was knocked out by the Brazilians in the quarter-finals of the African Football League last year after going down 2-0 on aggregate.

“I think we had a good start but that has already passed, and we have to focus on as you said, Saturday’s game and step by step I think we will achieve our goals,” Miguel concluded
