It could pay to follow the progress of Victorious Captain in today’s opening contest as this Lateral colt finished just over one length adrift that day. He has cracked pole on his first venture around the turn and should make natural improvement in an ordinary field.

KAPTEINSPANDIESEILE has shown promise and despite finishing a well-beaten 4th over this c & d recently it was an eye-catching performance from the chestnut gelding. He raced wide at the back of the field after jumping from a poor draw but ran on strongly in the closing stages. He did give the indication that he may prefer further but should enjoy today’s likely strong gallop and can pull this off.

The classy veteran gelding TEVEZ had a very satisfactory summer which culminated with him finishing just out of the money at the highest level on Met Day. His conditioner may be preparing him for a winter raid in KZN and though the Caesour gelding won’t be fully tuned-up today, he is extremely well treated at the weights and his class should carry him through.
Race 7: DIVA FEVER(3)
Jockey: Grant VAN NIEKERK – Trainer: Adam MARCUS
The early speed duel will suit DIVA FEVER who is better than her below-par last effort when easily beaten by STATE BALLET in stronger company last Saturday. The daughter of King’s Apostle runs well for top jockey Van Niekerk and the pair represents decent each/way value.
