STARPATH takes a big drop in distance but the Pathfork gelding is improving nicely and could have some class about him. He fought hard when going down narrowly to a well-supported newcomer over ten furlongs last time but was in turn many lengths clear of the next placed entrant Houston Rock who went close in his subsequent effort. The chestnut gelding went close over shorter prior to that and he has a decent turn of foot. Furthermore, top jockey Marcus usually gets them going early and the Woodruff inmate can claim that first prize.

KINGS ARCHER is a solid handicapper with decent credentials and he could prefer this slight drop in trip after staying on well for a decent 3rd in a highly competitive field over the mile three weeks ago. He finished half a length adrift of COUNT TASSILO that day and is 0.5kg to the good which should bring the pair even closer together. The latter is also in great form and more importantly, is unbeaten from two c & d efforts. He was raised a pound for that last run but still rates a huge threat.

FORT EMBER has blossomed into a top quality filly and her recent back-to-back efforts at the highest level confirmed this. The daughter of Elusive Fort produced eye-catching performances against top class male rivals, particularly when running on again behind the brilliant Legal Eagle over this c & d recently despite racing wide. She was beaten just over seven lengths that day but more importantly was only a short head adrift of the highly promising Rafeef. She takes on a smart field today but is back against her own sex and should stake a huge claim from the best draw with top jockey Marcus in the saddle.
