Ivory Coast vs Ghana | Sunday 08 February | Bata | 21:00

The 2015 Africa Cup of Nations has been blessed with a dream final. West African giants Ivory Coast and Ghana have been the best nations on the continent in the last decade and both are desperate to get their hands on the title which has eluded them for so many years. 1992 champions Ivory Coast booked their place in the final following a 3-1 win over the Democratic Republic of Congo in Bata on Wednesday evening. The Black Stars moved a step closer to ending their 33-year wait for another AFCON title after defeating hosts Equatorial Guinea 3-0 in the tournament’s second semi-final, played in Malabo amid controversy on Thursday night.

DR Congo vs Equatorial Guinea | Saturday 07 February | Malabo | 18:00

After two very heated semi-finals, we find ourselves with just two games remaining in AFCON 2015. Most will agree that the finalists have deservedly found their way to the last two in the tournament, leaving DR Congo and hosts, Equatorial Guinea, to fight it out for third place. After the appalling behavior of the home supporters in Thursday night’s second semi-final, I wouldn’t be surprised if this game doesn’t take place. However, it should go ahead as scheduled and we’re in for ninety minutes that are sure to surpass the confines of ‘just another football game’.
