Bowling first after winning the toss the Dolphins had to wait until the seventh over before they took their first wicket, Eathan Bosch picking up the wicket of captain Pieter Malan for thirteen.

Clyde Fortuin made 15 before he became Bosch’s second victim caught behind with the total on 66 in the sixteenth over of the innings as disciplined bowling from the Dolphins kept the Rocks in check through the early stages.

Two runs later and Bosch had his third with Michael Copeland back in the dressing room for a duck.

The Dolphins managed to get through the middle order of the Rocks with Ottniel Baartman dismissing Christiaan Jonker for six and then he had his second, trapping Ferisco Adams in front for a duck.

At the loss of the Adams wicket the Rocks were in trouble at 80 for five when the experienced Shaun von Berg joined the resolute Stiaan van Zyl at the crease.

The pair put together a partnership worth 72 runs which propelled the Rocks to 152 in the 37th over before Von Berg fell to debutant Andile Simelane for 28.

Imraan Manack was with Van Zyl when he went to his hundred as those two added 34 runs for the seventh wicket. The centurion Van Zyl was eventually bowled by Prenelan Subrayen for 109 off 127 balls with eight fours and one six.

Siya Mahima then fell to Baartman for a duck and the Rocks scraped together sixteen runs for the final three wickets as Bosch bagged his fourth, Subrayen his second and Baartman his third.

In the end, the Rocks finished on 202 all out in the 48th over.

In reply, the Dolphins were going along steadily at 25 without loss before the rain came down and unfortunately the players couldn’t get back out onto the field and had to share the points.

The Hollywoodbets Dolphins host the North West Dragons in their next match in the competition on Friday.
