To Win Match

Bangladesh vs India | 7 December 2022 | Shere-e-Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka | 08:00

The low-scoring contest first up gave Bangladesh a chance and we can expect another pitch that is tougher to bat on than we would normally see in white-ball cricket.

Bangladesh took a more cautious approach to the game than India but only just got past the swashbuckling tourists.

India’s bowlers will learn from the experience and redouble their efforts meaning the Bangladesh top order will need to be up for the fight.

Shakib Al Hasan showed he can still be a hero for his country despite his advancing years.

KL Rahul looked to have India on top but their own desire to get on with things scuppered the effort for the tourists.

Their modest total nearly proved enough thanks to an excellent bowling effort and Bangaldesh will be hard-pressed to close out this series.

Mohammad Siraj appears to be closest to finding the formula for success on the Shere-e-Bangla Stadium pitch.

Kuldeep Rampal Sen made an inauspicious debut and India might feel the young spinner’s loose five overs cost them the match.

Verdict: India 37/100

A more measured approach by the tourists should see them over the line against Bangladesh.
