India vs Australia | Second ODI | Sunday 19 March 2023 | YS Raja Reddy Cricket Stadium, Kadapa | 10:00

To Win
India 52/100 | Draw 25/1 | Australia 31/20

India bowled well to set up the win in the opening match of the series spearheaded by Mohammad Shami and Mohammad Siraj.

They suffered their own mini-collapse but were dragged over the line by KL Rahul and the allrounders.

Ravidra Jadeja continued his excellent form and was rewarded with the player of the match award thanks to a couple of wickets and a knock of 45 not out.

Hardik Pandya might have hoped to finish the innings but he found that others could get the job done.

Mitchell Marsh stood out as the only batter who seemed to know how to bat on an Indian surface.

Steve Smith gave away his wicket at a crucial point which sparked the collapse.

Marcus Stoinis’ bowling could be a weapon on these types of surfaces if he is used correctly.

Australia have a strong middle order on paper but they have been fragile in reality.

Verdict: India
