Ireland vs India | Second T20I | Tuesday 29 June 2022 | The Village, Malahide, Dublin | 17:30

Ireland

Harry Tector threatened to make a game of it for Ireland with a memorable aggressive knock of 64 off 33 balls.

Ireland’s top order faltered but it would be hard to imagine anyone in their lineup doing the job Tector pulled off.

However, with the ball in hand, Ireland were carted to all parts and the ground simply wasn’t big enough to defend almost any score in a 12 over match.

Craig Young showed that he is a threat with the new ball but even he offered up far too much for India to hit.

India

Deepak Hooda stepped up as a makeshift opener but it is far too early to call his 47 a success.

Ishan Kishan continued his brutal run of form and had Young not removed him he might have ended the contest even quicker.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is bowling on another level in T20I cricket and might rival Josh Hazlewood for the title of best quick bowler in the format.

Yuzvendra Chahal has also had too much guile for Ireland after a good series against South Africa.

Verdict: India

There should be only one winner.
