New Zealand

New Zealand get back to international action after a short break and now have the World Cup in its sights.

The Black Caps need to make a few tweaks to get their side firing on all cylinders but they look a good unit that will challenge all-comers.

Playing at home they should be favourites to win this series but will need to establish themselves early on.

Blair Tickner is the only member of the New Zealand squad not currently in the World Cup squad although he is on standby and might have a point to prove in the Tri-Series.

Pakistan

Pakistan’s rise in T20 cricket has been a low-key one but they are among the big forces in the game thanks to some talents unearthed in the under-rated PSL.

Last time out, Pakistan assessed conditions and their opponents quite well but they might need a little more to get past New Zealand.

This team still seems to rely heavily on star performers Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam and if they are to do well those two usually have to contribute.

We did not see Shaheen Afridi return which will be something to watch out for as the series goes on.

Verdict: New Zealand 72/100

The benefit of playing at home should see the Black Caps over the line against a very good Pakistan outfit.
