IPL Preview

Tuesday 17 May

Indians 82/100 | Tie 25/1 Sunrisers 21/20 (16:00)

Unfortunately, this match is a dead rubber with both sides having failed to reach the expected levels.

Mumbai Indians flop has come as a massive surprise although the departure of key players hurt them.

The Sunrisers have also overhauled their squad with IPL legends David Warner and Rashid Khan leaving the team.

The Wankhede is usually batter-friendly and this could still be a very entertaining game.

The Indians have actually come into a bit of form lately while the Sunrisers have lost their last five on the spin. Get on the Mumbai outfit.

Wednesday 18 May

Knight Riders 11/10 | Tie 25/1 | Super Giants 72/100 (16:00)

Kolkata Knight Riders are still in with a shout of making the playoffs but will need some favours and a big win.

LSG can clinch their place and put Rajasthan under pressure for second place for an edge in the playoffs.

KKR have been plagued by inconsistency but will seek a big final push to make it to the promised land.

LSG have been well led by KL Rahul who is also the side’s top run getter.

The Super Giants should have the edge here.

Thursday 19 May

Royal Challengers 21/20 | Tie 25/1 | Titans 82/100 (16:00)

RCB are set up to either scrape into the playoffs or suffer heartbreak at the last after an up and down campaign.

They might hope that the Gujarat Titans will take their proverbial foot off the gas.

Gujarat Titans should be wary of a drop in intensity with many teams that qualify for the playoffs early failing to go on to win the trophy after just such a drop.

Virat Kohli is under the spotlight after a tremendous dip in form and a spectacular succession of golden ducks which has left him under siege from the moment he takes to the crease.

The Titans have been different class throughout this tournament and are tipped to cruise home here.

Friday 20 May

Royals 67/100 | Tie 25/1 | Super Kings 5/4 (16:00)

Depending on the result between KKR and LSG, the Rajasthan Royals could be in a position to claim second place and two bites at a place in the final.

Chennai Super Kings have been improving after a disastrous start but this Royals side will still be massive favourites.

The Royals fittingly possess the current king of T20 cricket in their lineup, and if Jos Buttler fires it’s usually game over for the opposition.

This could be the last time we see MS Dhoni on the big stage, but no announcement has been made at this time.

The smart money’s on the Royals.
