Shukri Conrad, the head coach of the Proteas Men’s team, has announced the 15-player squad for the highly anticipated ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Final against Australia, which will be held from 11 – 15 June at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.

The squad includes several players from the Hollywoodbets Dolphins, showcasing their important role in the team’s setup.

Keshav Maharaj, a key figure in the spin department, will once again be relied upon to provide control and wickets in the middle overs. Maharaj, who has been a standout performer for the Dolphins, has consistently delivered for South Africa in red-ball cricket. His ability to turn the ball and maintain pressure will be crucial in the Test final.

Senuran Muthusamy, also from the Dolphins, makes the cut as a frontline spinner. Muthusamy’s consistent performances with the ball have earned him a spot in the squad, and his ability to contribute with the bat adds value as a spin-bowling all-rounder.

With the Hollywoodbets Dolphins having a strong presence in the squad, the team’s overall balance is further strengthened. The Proteas are particularly looking forward to leveraging their experience, especially in the spin-friendly conditions that Lord’s may present.

As part of the bowling attack, the squad is also bolstered by Lungi Ngidi, who makes his return to the Test fold for the first time since October 2024. Ngidi’s return adds valuable experience to the pace unit, which also includes Kagiso Rabada and Dane Paterson.

The squad, captained by Temba Bavuma, is full of talented players, and the inclusion of Dolphins players Maharaj and Muthusamy in key roles highlights the team’s reliance on their performances to help drive them toward victory in this crucial final.

Shukri Conrad praised the squad, emphasising the consistent selection over the past 18 months, which has helped South Africa reach the final. He expressed particular satisfaction with the return of Ngidi and the solid performances from both Maharaj and Muthusamy. The Proteas will assemble in Arundel on 31 May for a warm-up match against Zimbabwe before heading to London on 7 June.
