Delhi Capitals have never won the tournament either under their current identity or as their former selves, the Daredevils.

MI booked their place in the final with a qualifier win over the Capitals, who took their second chance well and beat the Sunrisers in Sunday’s second qualifier.

Mumbai Indians

Mumbai return to Dubai for just the fifth time this term hoping for a repeat of their last visit where they beat the Capitals. They might want to avoid the dreaded Super Over having lost the bowl off twice in their first two matches in the city.

Quinton De Kock holds the key to a strong start but MI have in form batsman throughout the top order and some scary finishing power.

You need look no further than Jasprit Bumrah to identify the Mumbai Indians key bowler and potential match-winner, especially if they have the runs on the board.

The Indians come into the match as massive favourites considering their championship pedigree and talented and experienced squad.

Delhi Capitals

The Capitals showed resilience and determination to hold off the Sunrisers and reach the promised land, powered by the bat of Shikhar Dhawan and a top bowling display.

The Capitals top order hasn’t found the consistency of their opponents but they remain a dangerous team, especially with Marcus Stoinis in great form as a finisher.

Capitals strike bowlers Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje may try to switch things up and keep things tight in the high-pressure environment of the IPL final.

The team from India’s capital have all the potential to take this final but there are questions about whether they have the experience and BMT.

Verdict: Mumbai Indians 67/100

The Indians have been there and done it… repeatedly. Back the side from Mumbai to claim yet another IPL title.
