Hollywoodbets Dolphins
There will be a couple of worries for the Hollywoodbets Dolphins heading into this match. Firstly, the running between the wickets within the top order has been dire this season. Morne van Wyk, Sarel Erwee, Vaughn van Jaarsveld and Dane Vilas have all been involved in schoolboy-type run outs this season.

The problem reared its head last night as van Jaarsveld was comically run out by a combination of Dane Piedt and Kyle Verreynne. Shot selection has also been an issue, with Vilas bizarrely trying to reverse-sweep the second ball he faced yesterday as a Piedt delivery clipped the top of off stump.

Soft dismissals saw Grant Morgan’s men slump from 126-0 after 25 overs to a meagre 230 all out. Thankfully for the KZN franchise, their bowlers were outstanding under the lights in Cape Town. Robbie Frylinck returned figures of 9-1-21-3 while Prenelan Subrayen was equally impressive with 10-1-24-2.

You feel that the bowlers will need to be good again against a very strong Warriors batting line-up. Keshav Maharaj was expensive compared to the rest of the attack and will need to keep a lid on things along with Subrayen and Senuran Muthusamy. The Dolphins would have won half the battle if the three finger-spinners can assert their dominance and strangle the Warriors in the middle overs.

 YESWENA

Warriors
The Warriors, despite only sneaking into the semi-finals, have made the most of their opportunity following a thumping eight-wicket win over the Multiply Titans in Pretoria. This marks their second successive Momentum One Day Cup final appearance following last year’s heavy defeat at the hands of the Titans.

The Eastern Cape franchise’s attack were magnificent as they bowled the Titans out for 230 on Tuesday evening. The attack was led brilliantly by the seam trio of Andrew Birch, Sisanda Magala and Anrich Nortje, with the latter really bursting onto the scene this season, picking up nine wickets in six matches.

Nortje generates excellent pace and seems the perfect foil to both Magala and Birch who lack that out-and-out gas, but are able to get it to nibble off the deck. Colin Ackermann and JJ Smuts will need to provide further support to the bowlers – especially if Magala is ruled out of the clash with the side strain that saw him leave the field before he could complete the eighth over.

We really don’t need to say much about the threat that the Warriors top order poses. Gilhahn Cloete, Smuts, Ackermann and Yaseen Vallie can all pile on the runs at a rate of knots. They will look to dominate the Dolphins’ seamers while not letting the spinners settle into a rhythm.

Verdict: Hollywoodbets Dolphins 57/100
The Dolphins will be buzzing after such a comprehensive victory over the Cobras down at Newlands on Wednesday evening. This, coupled with a large home crowd will see them over the line at 57/100.
