One on One with Robbie Frylinck

Robbie Frylinck - Hollywoodbets Dolphins

With the domestic cricket season in full swing, we bring you an exclusive interview with The Hollywoodbets Dolphins stalwart, Robbie Frylinck.

How is the cricket season treating you so far and the Dolphins as a unit?

We very happy with the way things have gone, obviously we got to the final of the RAM SLAM but we fell short there. But I think it was a great achievement to get to the final with having a lot of our games rained out.

But we’re busy with the Momentum One Day Cup, we are going well, we two out of three so far, and hoping to get to another final there and knock on the door for a trophy.

We’re quite happy where we’re at, four-day cricket I think we’re there and there about. There’s only been one result in the whole country so far, so the second half we are in with a shout.

How did you feel when you claimed a hat-trick in the RAM SLAM T20 and was it your first?

It was my first-hat trick in Twenty20 cricket. It was pretty awesome I must say, I quite enjoyed it as we were staring down the barrel a little bit, and to pick up three and three helped us a touch, even though we managed to lose the game off the last ball in that game.

And hitting two sixes off the final two balls of the match against the Cobras on Wednesday? You’re never too far from the action!

It’s always nice to get the team over the line, bit frustrated with my fellow teammates that it got to that stage because we were cruising through the game and we managed to find a way to almost lose it, in fact, we should have lost the game the way we went about it.

But I couldn’t have been dished up two nicer balls to hit, so I’m happy I could just win the game for the team.

How is the mood in the camp with the team travelling around the country?

It’s been quite hectic, it’s been quite a busy schedule, but you know what, the guys are very happy we’ve got such a nice squad, everyone gets along with everyone, the mood in the camp is really really good. We are just trying to win that trophy this season.

With five more regular season matches ahead of you in the Momentum One Day Cup, which team are you looking to get a win against the most?

That’s pretty simple.. everyone we play against. But we take one game at a time, and we tackle the opponent that we’ve got in front of us, and that’s it, it is a busy schedule.

Main goal is to get into the qualifier. Hopefully a home semi, and that’s it, we take one game at a time and see how it goes.

How’s the team preparing for the remaining Momentum One Day Cup fixtures going forward?

We obviously train hard, with the schedule being so tough a part of it is to allocate resting time because it’s sort of, play a game, fly the next day, play the next day. So rest at this time is also quite important so we’ve got to balance it with training and rest.

And do you have any message to any young cricketers coming up the ranks?

Work hard, train hard, never give up, and go to Westville Boys’ High School.

Hollywoodbets would like to thank Robbie Frylinck for his time and wish him all the best for the rest of the season.!
