To Win Match

India 29/100 | Tie 25/1 | New Zealand 26/10

India

Rohit Sharma has led the India team well both as skipper and opening batsman and has been ably assisted by KL Rahul up top.

Suryakumar Yadav suffered a rare failure, getting out early as India looked to keep the hammer down but he remains one to watch.

Harshal Patel is another young player staking a claim for a big future in India’s blue jersey with his new ball and death bowling.

Among a group of youngsters, the calm influence of Ravichandran Ashwin has been invaluable.

New Zealand

New Zealand were made to rue their failure to get going despite having a handful of batters get a start.

Martin Guptill is in dangerous form and could still do some damage on this tour, especially at a venue like Eden Gardens.

Daryl Mitchell’s all-round value is becoming a big plus for the Black Caps even if they are missing Devon Conway.

Trent Boult and Tim Southee haven’t bowled at their best in this series so far and New Zealand need them to step up.

Verdict: India 29/100

India should sweep the series.
