Scotland vs Papua New Guinea | 19 October 2021 | Al Amerat Cricket Ground, Muscat | 12:00

To Win Match

Scotland 1/7
Draw 25/1
PNG 52/10

Scotland should be confident coming into this match, not only due to their own performance but also because Papua New Guinea look to be some way off the pace.

It took a monumental effort for PNG just to get to the World Cup and they should savour the moment rather than get caught up in how far off the best in the world they are.

Having said that the conditions might act as a leveller for PNG, but they will need to improve significantly to compete with a Scotland side that might lay claim to being the best associate nation.

Scotland’s George Munsey looks like the batsman to watch in this game; he threatened to unleash against Bangladesh and could do some real damage against a less experienced attack.

Verdict: Scotland 1/7

You simply can’t look past Scotland for the win here. Get on Scotland to hit more sixes at 6/10 for a bit more value.

Oman vs Bangladesh | 19 October 2021 | Al Amerat Cricket Ground, Muscat | 16:00

To Win Match

Oman 32/10
Tie 25/1
Bangladesh 24/100

This match is a must-win for Bangladesh who could find themselves packing their bags if they suffer another upset.

It is the worst possible time for Bangladesh to be facing Oman, in their backyard, and with all the excitement of having the cricketing world’s attention focused on Muscat coursing through the Al Amerat ground.

After beating PNG, Oman can effectively book their place in the next round with victory but will find the Tigers a big step up from PNG.

Batting has been a problem for Bangladesh and they will need to exploit Oman’s attack early to ensure they don’t crumble under the pressure.

Verdict: Bangladesh 24/100

Bangladesh simply have too much quality in their ranks to suffer back to back defeats against an associate nation.
