Easterns made a fist of their run chase as they were with the rate for the majority of the innings however six wickets in the last four overs saw the Dolphins home in what was a tough encounter at the Manguang Oval.

Dupavillon was left to defend thirteen off the final over of the chase and picked up two wickets while only conceding four runs to help his side to a narrow victory which sets them up well ahead of their final clash on Sunday.

Even more impressive was the fact that Dupavillon only conceded eleven runs in his four overs.

Ottniel Baartman continued his good form with figures of two for 28 while there were wickets for Jason Smith, Prenelan Subrayen and Bryce Parsons.

The Dolphins innings never quite kicked into top gear with some good, disciplined bowling from Easterns keeping them from launching towards that 170 or 180 mark.

Sarel Erwee continued his good start to the competition when he scored a fluent 28 before he was caught behind.

Thamsanqa Khumalo was bowled for just five and Grant Roelofsen hit some lusty blows in his eighteen off ten balls.

The middle-order scored the bulk of the runs for the Dolphins with Marques Ackerman making 23, Khaya Zondo 25 and Jason Smith, in his first innings for the Dolphins, top-scored with 45 not out off 34 deliveries.

Smith’s innings was crucial in the Dolphins getting over the 150 mark as they finished on 155 for six in their 20 overs.

The Dolphins face the SA Under 19 side in their final match of Group C on Sunday.
