Subrayen six put Dolphins firmly in control

Hollywoodbets Dolphins spinner Prenelan Subrayen returned his career-best first-class figures of 6/24 as the Dolphins took firm control of the 4-Day Domestic Series final against the Momentum Multiply Titans as the visitors were bowled out for 53 in their first innings at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium.

After the first two days were almost completely lost to the elements the Dolphins knew that they would need to make a fast start to their bowling innings after posting 295 in their first innings.

They did just that on day four as Subrayen took the new ball and made an immediate impact when he took three of the first four wickets to fall in the Titans innings.

The 53 all out is the lowest first-class score from the Titans in the franchise era.

The Titans went from 22 for three to 53 all out thanks to the six-wicket haul from Subrayen as well as an equally impressive 3/12 from Senuran Muthusamy.

Muthusamy’s figures were proven to be even better when his twelve runs conceded came off thirteen overs.

After being bowled out for 53, the Dolphins asked the Titans to bat again with a deficit of 242 runs to make the Dolphins bat again.

It was Subrayen and Muthusamy that came to the fore once again when they shared the four wickets to fall in the Titans second innings.

The Dolphins will be buoyed by the fact that Dean Elgar and Theunis de Bruyn have both been dismissed in the Titans’ second knock.

The visiting side finished the day on 92/4, still trailing the Dolphins by 150 runs going into Monday’s final day of the final.
