South Africa
After the ecstasy at Buffalo Park there was agony for the Proteas who fell just short in a brilliant chase in Durban.

There were plenty of positives for the hosts despite the ultimately disappointing result.

The Proteas can definitely improve in almost every area of the game, but they are not far off being a side that can compete with the best in T20I cricket.

Quinton de Kock has been reinvigorated by the captaincy and is striking the ball phenomenally well, he will be key if the Proteas are to win this series.

Jon-Jon Smuts might be running out of time to impress and Mark Boucher might be tempted to give Pite van Biljon a debut at Supersport Park.

Dale Steyn was rested for the second T20I, but the veteran is expected to return for the decider although it is not clear if he will replace Bjorn Fortuin or Beuran Hendricks in the XI.

England
England have fired in patches in this series but haven’t been at their very best much to the frustration of skipper Eoin Morgan.

Morgan has himself played and led well, and England fought hard to earn redemption in the second T20I.

Jason Roy has been solid up front for England laying a good platform, but Jos Buttler’s struggles have continued. Tom Banton might be in contention for a place in the XI in Centurion.

Chris Jordan’s death bowling has been sublime and could ultimately prove to be the difference between the two sides.

Ben Stokes hasn’t always been fluid with a bat in hand, but even on his off days, he can be very dangerous.

Verdict: South Africa
The Proteas will get home with the help of the Supersport Park faithful.
