Race 4

THAILAND has posted two solid last runs, finishing fifth in the latest over 2100M, two and a half lengths behind the winner. He raced just behind the leader that day before taking over the lead at the 600M mark, only to be run out of it late. He has cracked pole position and the drop in distance is sure to suit him and as such, he is taken to be the best bet on the day’s card.

MOJO CLASSIC won his maiden race last time out over a mile by half a length, despite coming the widest of them all into the home straight. He produced a powerful finish that day and the form of that race has been franked. From gate five, he could emerge as the biggest danger to the top choice.

STELLA GLOW is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys, but she had her consistency rewarded with her maiden win last time out over nine furlongs by just under half a length. The victory was made more noteworthy as she had to be held up between the 400M and 200M marks. The form of that race has also been franked and from a handy draw four, she should be involved in the finish.

Race 5

There are four unraced runners in the field, so as is always the case in these types of races, a keen eye should be kept on the betting markets to get some indication as to whether any of the connections believe that they can win first-time out. Any betting support for a runner or runners should be respected. Of the raced runners OAKFIELD REDGUM may prove to be the best. He finished third on debut over six furlongs, 2.2L back from the winner, but he did come three-wide into the home straight that day, before finishing off his race well. She was her own worst enemy by hanging out in the home straight and returns from a 15-week rest, but did finish third in her only barrier trial to showcase her well-being. barrier trials. From her useful gate four, she could be the one to side with here.

KEYNOTE finished fifth first time out over five furlongs, just over two and a half lengths adrift of the victor and was immediately rested for 60 weeks. She returns here after putting in two encouraging barrier trials and the fact that her connections have brought her back into racing after such a lengthy absence would seem to suggest that they believe that she still has something more to offer them. She should put her pole position to good use.

DENARVI also finished fifth on debut over five furlongs, but in her case, nine lengths off the winner. She would have learnt from that experience and with the natural improvement that can be expected from one gate outside the latter, she should be included in all bets.

Race 6

QUICK NICK came three-wide approaching the home turn, but then made good late progress to finish third last time out over five furlongs, three and a half lengths behind the winner, suggesting that the extra ground on offer here will be to his liking. He will have to negotiate draw eight, but nevertheless is made the value bet on the day’s program. THE OUTCAST is the stable companion to the top choice who has finished closer to the winner in each of his last three runs, the latest when third over 1500M, two lengths adrift of the victor. The gelding race wide without cover that day, but stayed on well over the latter stages of the contest and the form of that race has stood up well with three runners out of that race subsequently winning. He jumps from draw six and makes a solid back-up for the yard.

SKYRAY had to be checked off the heels of other runners shortly after the start when finishing eleventh in his latest outing over six furlongs, three and a half lengths back from the winner. He has pulled pole position and should not be lightly dismissed.

Race 7

As with the second leg of the day’s Jackpot, there are a number of unraced runners in this contest, so the same comment in respect of keeping an eye on the betting moves applies here as well. LAOS FORTUNE is seldom far off the winner, finishing a head third last time out over six furlongs. He jumped awkwardly that day, but recovered well to race just behind the leaders and then battled all the way down to the wire. He faces a wide draw eleven, but on that last effort, he should be doing his best work late.

SACRED ALBA finished third on debut over 1300M and then eleventh next time out over six furlongs, nine and a half lengths adrift of the winner, but the form of that race has been franked. The gelding should he improved further with that run under his belt and whilst draw wider out in gate thirteen, given his style of racing, he is likely to be dropped out of it in the early stages and then start to pick off the front runners over the closing stages of the race.

ROVERS PEPPER showed some improvement second time out when finishing fourth over 1100M, just over three and a half lengths behind the winner. He overraced in the early stages and then had to be eased off the heels of other runners at the 800M that day, so that effort was encouraging. He gets a cozy draw three and will have 1.5kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice to aid his cause.
