Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel will be looking to take an advantage into the mid-season break when the field lines up for the Hungarian Grand Prix on Sunday the 29th of July.
Lewis Hamilton is in the driver’s seat for Sunday’s Hungarian Grand Prix as the reigning world champion secured pole position during an eventful Qualifying 3 session on Saturday.
With this being the final race before the mid-season break, the ‘Brit will want to ensure that he uses his advantage off the start line to full effect and head into the break top of the Drivers’ Championship standings.

Qualifying
Yesterday’s final qualifying session proved to be a rather eventful one with heavy rain making the track rather treacherous. The wet weather was actually a godsend for the Mercedes team who had been second best to Ferrari during the dry practice sessions held the day prior.
Lewis Hamilton spearheaded Mercedes assault during the final qualifying session with the ‘Brit setting the fastest lap time to secure pole position. He will be joined on the front of the grid by teammate Valtteri Bottas who qualified ahead of the Ferraris of Kimi Raikkonen (third) and Sebastian Vettel (fourth).
Carlos Sainz and his Renault team also enjoyed a solid qualifying session as he qualified in fifth, while rookie Pierre Gasly secured sixth place in his Torro Rosso.
Value Bet – First Driver to Retire – Max Verstappen @ 22/1
This is certainly an outside shot but backing Verstappen to be the first driver back in the pits could reap a massive dividend for a rather small stake. The Red Bull man could only qualify in seventh spot, which means he’s going to have to take a lot of risks if he wants to make it onto the podium. I can see his desperation ensuring he crashes out early in the piece.
To Win Race Outright – Sebastian Vettel @ 18/10
With dry weather forecast for today’s race it may prove prudent to have a punt on the Ferrari ace. The Ferraris were by far and away the quickest team during the dry practice sessions and I can see Vettel’s pace advantage seeing him to a vital race victory here despite the German starting in fourth place.
