The daughter of King’s Chapel has good scope for improvement and she gets the services of an in-form jockey.

SAMOVAR had two promising recent performances on the polytrack and he now has his third run back from a break. He got going late when runner-up over six furlongs two weeks ago & his pedigree suggests that the Judpot colt will relish the mile today. He usually runs on well so for his wide draw isn’t a big issue and the Kannemeyer inmate can go one better.

MODERNISTA is coming along the right way and she stayed on well for 3rd over a mile at Scottsville, four weeks ago, despite suffering a bump at the start. The 3rd placed runner boosted that form with a subsequent win and this daughter of Greys Inn should continue to improve. She should relish this extra distance and has lively claims in this ordinary field.

She has met considerably stronger on the Vaal sand and despite taking on male rivals today, she could be a real force in this class. Her pole barrier position is a major plus.
