Top Eastern Cape rugby club Swallows RC is thrilled to receive the backing of well-known South African bookmaker Hollywoodbets ahead of their Gold Cup campaign. The company welcomed the club into their purple family when they came on board as title sponsor for the Hollywoodbets Swallows in February 2019.
This rugby club has a fantastic record having finished their 2018 season unbeaten. Swallows also brought home four trophies throughout the year having won the Super League, the Eastern Cape 12, the Heritage Tournament and the Border Championship, putting them in a secure position leading up to the Gold Cup.
The Swallows rugby club attracted Hollywoodbets’ attention thanks to their relationship with the popular Phaka show. Host Kaunda Ntunja highlighted this club as one that would benefit from the gambling giant’s support.
“I was born and bred in the Eastern Cape so it was an honour and a privilege to facilitate the sponsorship between an iconic brand like Hollywoodbets and the best rugby club side in the Border region. The Swallows have qualified yet again to take part in the Gold Cup by virtue of the fact that they’re the best club in the Border area, and with the help of Hollywoodbets they will enter into the competition better equipped to take on all challengers,” said Ntunja.

The Swallows are in Pool D for the Gold Cup and their first match on the 9th of March sees them face the KWV Springs.
