Chiefs vs Hurricanes
15. Mar 2019, 08:35
Hamilton, New Zealand
Waikato Stadium

To Win (80 Mins)
Chiefs 5/2
Draw 25/1
Hurricanes 3/10

Handicap
Chiefs (+8) 9/10

Hurricanes (-8) 9/10
Forecast handicap*

The Chiefs are on a four match slide, and host a tough Hurricanes outfit at the Waikato Stadium.

The Chiefs last four matches have played out like this:

  • Lost 27:30 Highlanders
  • Lost 54:17 Brumbies
  • Lost: 15:30 Sunwovles
  • Lost 57:28 Crusaders
Chiefs coach Colin Cooper is considering switching D’Mack to fullback and placing Jack Debreczeni  in at 10. The Chiefs are in need of change in fortunes if they are to keep their seven year playoff run in tact. And after suffering a record defeat against the Saders last weekend, the Chiefs need a jolt in the right direction and the introduction of former rebels man Debreczeni could be the answer.
Debreczeni missed the first three rounds of matches due to injury but played a cameo against the Crusaders, scoring a late try.
The Hurricane have been in devastating form, with the bulldozer Ngani Luamampe the front runner in the 2019 Super Rugby stats with five tries to his name. The Hurricanes held off a challenge from the Highlanders and when their match was all tied in injury time a penalty conversion form Beauden Barrett won them the game.

Head to Head in Recent Years
Cheifs 8 – 9 Hurricanes
Verdict: Hurricanes (-8) 9/10

Brumbies vs Waratahs
15. Mar 2019, 10:45
Canberra, Australia
Canberra Stadium

To Win (80 Mins)
Brumbies 82/100
Draw 22/1
Waratahs 1/1

Handicap

Brumbies (-1) 9/10
Waratahs (+1) 9/10
Forecast handicap*

An Australian affair sees the Brumbies host the Waratahs. The Waratahs will need a strong showing against what will probably be their toughest test against Australian opposition thus far in the season before they face the Crusaders. The Brumbies’ heads will be low after two successive defeats especially against the Rebels by three points

The Waratahs could be without their Wallabies’ Allan Alaalatoa and David Pocock after their narrow 29 – 26 loss to the Rebels. The Waratahs are on a two match winning streak and a win in Canberra will serve them well in the summit of the Australian Conference. The Brumbies have the second highest try scoring tally on 18 behind the Crusaders who are on 23. Curtis Rona, Israel Folau, and Kurtley Beale will be the Waratahs back-line trump cards come Friday.

Head to Head in Recent Years
Brumbies 9 – 9 Waratahs
Verdict:  Brumbies 82/100
