On the 28th August, one of our suppliers’ odds compilers incorrectly priced up the odds for all matches played by CSKA Moscow (Bouz).

Hollywoodbets, Betway and other South African operators have taken this issue very seriously and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience which the suspension of accounts may have caused. In addition, we have taken cognisance of the Regulators’ rules regarding matters such as this, together with the respective company terms and conditions. In terms of those rules and regulations, the relevant bets will be re-laid at the odds above, as amended and submitted by Betradar.
The player Bouz, has not received an official rating and his record of 24 straight losses would deem him to be a low seeded player. However, we have chosen to calculate punters’ winnings based on a mid-seed player, to the benefit of our customers.
International operators in Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana and across Europe and Asia have also been affected by this issue and will be taking similar action, as determined by their local regulators and individual terms and conditions.

On the 28th August, one of our odds compilers incorrectly priced up the odds for all matches
played by CSKA Moscow (Bouz).
The error was two-fold for the reasons set out below:
1. Due to the nature of eSoccer competitions, we refrain from offering odds on “new” players
due to the lack of a significant level of form. For the GT26 League unless a player has
played 50 matches in the league, we have a protocol that means we do not publish odds on
that player. CSKA Moscow (Bouz) had only completed 24 matches before the palpable
odds were published incorrectly hence the unintended breach of protocol.
2. CSKA Moscow (Bouz) was a replacement player for CSKA Moscow (Pera) around the 26th
August and clearly of a lower standing, evident when you look at the ranking (Bouz: Unrank
but lost 24/24 matches, players of a similar rank are approximately 200, Pera: 1910,
3rd best of 43 players in recent form). The compounding error comes when the odds
compiler used CSKA Moscow (Pera) as the form reference and subsequently and
mistakenly made Bouz the favourite for the matches in question. In the table below we have
calculated the true odds using a player of equivalent ranking to CSKA Moscow (Bouz), as
well as the true odds based on a player with a rating of 893 (significantly better than Bouz).
Unfortunately, errors do occur and in this instance it is clear that not only did our odds compiler
wrongly publish odds according to our protocol but also generated wrong odds using totally
incorrect form references. The consequence of this was that globally any bookmaker who offered
betting on CSKA Moscow (Bouz) could have accepted bets taken on his opponents at odds far
higher than what they should have been.
Given the obvious palpable error we suggest you take action to withhold payment on this business
and replace the odds on the winning bets with the suggested odds below. In this table we have
also included columns showing the average incorrect odds offered, as well as one showing what
the odds would have been if Bouz had a rating of 893:
