There’s just a handful of races left until the end of one of the most exciting seasons in modern F1 and we’re in for a pulsating crescendo to the 2024 campaign especially after Ferrari’s soil showing in Texas last weekend.

We hop across the border for our next race which will see the field go head-to-head at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez this Sunday.

Max Verstappen 5/2 | Charles LeClerc 11/4 | Lando Norris 11/4 | Carlos Sainz 8/1 | Oscar Piastri 8/1 | George Russell 18/1

Previous Race – United States

The season continues to throw up surprises with Ferrari dominating proceedings in the States as they claimed a one-two finish at the Circuit of the Americas this past weekend.

The drama would come with the final podium position, however, with title rivals Lando Norris and Verstappen swapping places as the former received a time penalty for exceeding track limits.

Verstappen also conquered the sprint race held the day before, which saw him pull a bit further away from Norris on the standings.

Track – Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez

The circuit contains seventeen turns, with the most notorious of these being the high-speed corner which goes by the name of the “Peraltada”. This corner leads onto the start-finish line, and while it is a real challenge, it’s also a corner the drivers thoroughly enjoy.

The start-finish straight is 1.2 kilometres long and because of the high-speed exit from the Peraltada corner, drivers get a slingshot into it. This combined with the high altitude means that we will see some blistering sector times being set here.

Last year’s race was won by Max Verstappen – boy would he love to grab a win this weekend – with Lewis Hamilton claiming second while pole sitter Charles LeClerc rounded out the podium.

It looks like we’re in for good weather this weekend which is a massive relief as it seems there’s a hurricane hitting the Americas every day in October. The forecast is currently calling for sunny skies and temperatures in the low 20s throughout the race weekend.

Value Bet

Oscar Piastri – Podium Yes 1/1

The value bet came in last weekend with Charles LeClerc claiming a win, unfortunately, I only had him down for a podium finish. I’m going to go with Piastri for a podium finish this weekend.

While the McLarens weren’t great in the States, they weren’t far off the podium places. I think there’s enough value on offer here to back Piastri.

To Win Race Outright

Max Verstappen 5/2

I’m going for value this weekend and Verstappen has some this weekend.

He’s won the past three Mexican Grand Prix and will be desperate for a win here with Lando Norris 57 points behind him on the Drivers’ standings and Red Bull 40 pints behind McLaren on the Constructors’ standings.

I get the feeling that Verstappen will come good here.
