Makazole Mapimpi is the latest sporting icon to join forces with Hollywoodbets as he joined the Purple Team in October 2024, but his association with the Hollywood Foundation dates to February 2024.
Known as one of the most prominent South African professional rugby players known for his exceptional skills as a winger. He was born on July 26, 1990 in Tsholomnqa, Eastern Cape, South Africa. Mapimpi has gained significant recognition for his speed, finishing ability, and overall versatility on the field.
Early life and career
Mapimpi grew up in a rural village and played various sports as a child. He started playing rugby at a young age and eventually caught the attention of scouts due to his natural athleticism and speed.
His professional rugby career began in the domestic competitions in South Africa, where he played for the Eastern Province Kings and Southern Kings.
Rise to prominence
Mapimpi’s breakthrough on the international stage came when he was selected to play for the Springboks. He made his test debut in 2017 and has not looked backed ever since as he quickly established himself as Mr Reliable when it comes to his ability to score tries and contribute to the attacking play.

Mapimpi’s success with the Springboks, particularly his contribution to their 2019 World Cup victory in Japan – where he became the first Springbok to score a try in a final – he has solidified his status as one of South Africa’s top wingers across all generations.
