RACE 5 – HOLLYWOODBETS GREYVILLE Grade 3 Lonsdale Stirrup Cup

MATTERHORN

Jimmy The Rich Comment: MATTERHORN ran on from last when finishing second in the Grade 2 WSB 1900 last time. He has won three times, finished second twice and third once from as many starts on this course. He can race from any position and should fight out the finish.

Winning Form Comment: 2nd run after rest. Best MR:100. Close-up behind a talented filly in a Grade 2 last time. Big chance.

SILVER HOST

Jimmy The Rich Comment: SILVER HOST found one too good in the form of Atyaab in the Grade 2 Western Cape Stayers last time. He returns from a 17-week break which may have done him the world of good. The son of Silvano has class about him and if suited to the course, he should be competitive.

Winning Form Comment: Rested 17 wks. Best MR:110. 2nd behind subsequent winner in latest. Proven stayer and should go close.

RACE 6 – WOOLAVINGTON 2000 GRADE 1

WAR OF ATHENA

Jimmy The Rich Comment: The Wilgerbosdrift Triple Tiara winner makes her way to KZN. WAR OF ATHENA has won her last five starts under Muzi Yeni with ease. The daughter of Act Of War has finished second in her only attempt on this course. She is the best filly in this contest and if all went well with her travels, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

Winning Form Comment: Best MR:122. Wilgerbosdrift Triple Tiara winner. Should take a power of beating.

PRINCESS CALLA

Jimmy The Rich Comment: PRINCESS CALLA was her own worst enemy in the Grade 2 WSB Fillies Guineas last time as she overraced in the early stages. The daughter of Flower Alley has found plenty of betting support leading into this contest and if switching off early, she can fill the exacta spot.

Winning Form Comment: Best MR:118. Runner-up in a Grade 2 last time. Trainers only runner. Merits healthy respect.

SECOND BASE

Jimmy The Rich Comment: SECOND BASE ran a very good race despite having to check badly at the 1600m mark last time. Warren Kennedy takes the ride today and if suited to this track, he should give a good account of himself.

Winning Form Comment: Best MR: 122. Challenged a top sort in a Grade 1 last time. Makes course debut and must be respected.

NETTA

Jimmy The Rich Comment: NETTA was ultra-impressive when winning her last start over this distance at Turffontein. She finished 9 lengths behind the top choice in the Grade 2 SA Oaks. She may have a difficult task turning the form around.

Winning Form Comment: Best MR:120. Trounced rivals to win latest. Is held by number 1 on prior form lines.

RACE 7 – DAILY NEWS 2000 GRADE 1

KOMMETDIEDING

Jimmy The Rich Comment:

KOMMETDIEDING should have finished closer last time as he was inconvenienced at the 1300m mark. The son of Elusive Fort will love the step up in distance and with a bit of luck in running, should run a big race.

LINEBACKER

Jimmy The Rich Comment:

LINEBACKER was super-impressive when winning the Grade 2 WSB Guineas last time. He switched off nicely in the early stages and the manner in which he moved past horses up the straight was eye-catching. The son of Captain Of All won the Grade 1 Cape Derby over this distance. He has plenty of class about him and should notch up his fourth career victory.

Winning Form Comment: 3rd run after rest. Best MR:124. Impressive Grade 2 winner in latest. Should be tough to beat.
