Winning Form Vodacom Durban July Comments
Africa’s most prestigious horse race has arrived and a quality field will take their place. There should be no concerns about the pace in this race as there are natural frontrunners including SHAH AKBAR, CROWN TOWERS and RUNNING BRAVE.
The confident first selection goes to GOT THE GREENLIGHT from the Joe Soma stable. He has produced three very encouraging efforts since his return to racing including victories in the Grade 1 Horse Chestnut Stakes and the Grade 1 Premier’s Champions Challenge. He is a lot stronger and a much more mature horse this year and should go one better.
RAINBOW BRIDGE had to fight hard for his victory in the Grade 1 Hollywoodbets Gold Challenge, but as is always the case, his second run after a rest is never his best. He has had the perfect preparation coming into this contest and this is his best chance of winning the race.
LINEBACKER was impressive when winning both the Grade 2 Guineas and the Grade 1 Daily News 2000. This is his toughest test, but he has plenty of class and should be up to the task.
BELGARION and DO IT AGAIN merit healthy respect.
