COUSIN CASEY had a five-run winning streak snapped in the Hollywoodbets Cape Guineas by the, up until then, undefeated Charles Dickens, finishing four-and-a-quarter lengths behind the Candice Bass-Robinson-trained colt.
Prior to that, the son of Vercingetorix won the Durban Golden Horseshoe on Hollywoodbets July day before taking out the Grade 2 Cape Punters Cup. He faces his toughest test to date and will do well to mix it up with some of the titans of South African racing. It’ll be interesting to see if he enjoys the trip, having only previously run over 1000, 1400 and 1600 metres.
