Jockey: Richard FOURIE – Trainer: Justin SNAITH

This is another very tough event but the Snaith yard could come to the fore with the lightly raced son of Black Minnaloushe, SUPER VILLAIN. The chestnut gelding has shown improved form since arriving in PE and he ran on well for a close 3rd over seven furlongs on this track in his penultimate outing. He then stayed on for another decent finish over a mile on the polytrack last time and has plenty more room for improvement. He has a midfield draw today and should be very competitive.

Jockey: Warren KENNEDY – Trainer: Gavin SMITH

VELOCITY ONE is certainly one of the few horses that will be really sad to see the end of Arlington racing. The son of Solskjaer has achieved almost all of his success on this course and boasts an excellent c & d record. However, he adapted well to the polytrack as he stayed on for a good third over 1900m there, last Friday, and has bright claims of finishing his career on this course on a high. Warren Kennedy retains the ride on the entire’ and the pair should go very close today.

Jockey: MJ BYLEVELD – Trainer: Alan GREEFF

The Alan Greeff yard could once again come to the fore here and COMMANCHE MOON is a confident first selection. The Victory Moon gelding has done well since arriving in PE and he quickly bounced back to form in his last start. Of course, he still felt the effects of the long six month break when he faded badly in his penultimate outing over this c & d. The last run though, proved his well-being as he set the pace and was only outrun late into a close 3rd over the mile at Fairview. Today’s shorter run-in suits him perfectly and he is best in on official ratings. His jockey should employ similar tactics from a midfield draw and he should take some beating.

Race 5: WOGSY(2)

Jockey: Jonathan SOLL – Trainer: Gavin SMITH

WOGSY continues to perform well and he produced a strong finish to just outdo ASGARD over this trip at Fairview, three weeks ago. He meets the runner-up on 1kg worse terms after his two pound penalty but is very gutsy and should have more to come. He has a c & d victory to his credit and he should again be competitive.

Race 7: INSEARCHOFTHESUN(7) (Each Way)
Jockey: Keagan LATHAM – Trainer: Steven V/RENSBURG

INSEARCHOFTHESUN has always been highly regarded and is now starting to show exactly why. He completed a fine hat-trick when he showed his excellent turn of foot to beat some quality rivals over this trip on his comeback run at Fairview, three weeks ago. The grey son of Whitechapel was badly out at the weights that day but will strip much fitter here and obviously has plenty more improvement to come. Admittedly, he is probably most effective over an extra furlong but there should be another cracking pace in this event and he will be picking his rivals up one by one at the finish. He is much better treated on today’s handicap terms and must be taken seriously.
