Winning Form Best Bets
Race 1: NILE SYMPHONY(3)
Race 3: BUTTERFLY CHILD(1)
Race 7: RUSSIAN MIG(4)
Race 8: ASGARD(3)
Race 1: JASON OF ARGONAUT(9)
Jockey: Stuart RANDOLPH – Trainer: Alan GREEFF
A competitive opening contest but the fitting of blinkers could be exactly what JASON OF ARGONAUT requires. The son of Argonaut has thus far been thereabouts over the sprints and lacked a strong kick when fourth behind the speedy Stallone over this c & d, three weeks ago. He has three lengths to find on NILE SYMPHONY on that effort but the headgear could be really significant and there could be lots more to come from the Greeff inmate. The latter though, still holds plenty of aces as he was making his local debut that day and would have come on from that run. He certainly would have acclimatized further since that effort and merits healthy respect. That said, the slight concern is that he is often slow into stride and the top rating will definitely be much sharper with the blinkers and may skip clear of the latter.
Race 3: STAGE GIRL(3)
Jockey: Kendall MINNIE – Trainer: Alan GREEFF
STAGE GIRL had too much to do from a wide draw against male rivals last time out and quite frankly seems best on this shorter run-in. She came right back to her best when she challenged strongly and finished runner-up over this c & d in her penultimate outing. She jumps from a good draw today and should be very competitive back against her own sex
Race 4: MIA FORZA(6)
Jockey: Luyolo MXOTHWA – Trainer: Justin SNAITH
MIA FORZA clearly benefitted from the fitting of blinkers as she finally made her mark on South African racing. The daughter of Fastnet Rock ran on smartly to win impressively over six furlongs at Fairview. She picked up a five pound penalty for her troubles but that headgear has definitely made a difference and she could still have plenty to offer. She has already proven effective over this extra furlong and she finished close-up over this c & d behind male rivals, three starts ago. She will benefit from a 2.5kgs apprentice claim today and is selected to go back-to-back.
Race 6: MING WARRIOR(11) – TOP BET

Race 5: VERTICAL DRIFT(2) (Each Way)
Jockey: Warren KENNEDY – Trainer: Steven V/RENSBURG
This is a tricky contest as a few of the principle contenders are returning from a break and may be short of race-fitness. VERTICAL DRIFT though, has no such concerns and he gets the nod to defy his big mass and wide draw. He bounced right back to form when he ran on smartly to win under a similar weight over ten furlongs on this course, three weeks ago. That earned him a five pound penalty and he takes on considerably stronger, which makes his task more difficult. However, he stays this extra distance well and as mentioned above, he has fitness on his side.
