Race 6

The day’s best bet, INCENTIVISE has won five races on the bounce over a variety of different distances, the latest over 2500M when putting nine and a half lengths between himself and the trailing opposition. He raced four wide in the early stages, but then hit the front entering the home straight and was never sighted from that point. He gets gate six and could prove very difficult to topple here.

SOUTHERN FRANCE shifted around in the straight before ending up in eighth place last time out in a Group 3 event over twelve furlongs, just under six lengths behind the winner. He jumps from gate four and could emerge as the biggest danger to the top choice.

SAVVY OAK has solid staying form to his credit and battled all the way down to the wire when ending up in second place in his latest outing over twelve furlongs, just a neck back from the winner. He attracted plenty of betting support that day and from a handy draw two, he will be looking to make amends today.

Race 7

SHOOTING FOR GOLD disappointed in a feature race last time out when finishing twelfth over seven furlongs, just over nine lengths adrift of the victor and was immediately rested for 23 weeks, but the form of that race has stood up well with six runners out of that contest subsequently winning. He returns here having won his only barrier trial to prove his well-being and it should be noted that he had rattled off his hat-trick prior to his last two below-par efforts. From gate seven, he will be looking to bounce back to his best form today.

DEVIL’S TEMPTATION jumped awkwardly but then recovered well to show plenty of speed before winning his last start over 900M by some three lengths. He has a kinder gate four and could prove difficult to peg back over the closing stages of the contest.

DESERT MAN is another speedy sort who showed solid improvement to win his last outing over 1100M by two lengths. He kicked clear at the 200M pole that day and then kept the chasing pack at bay over the latter stages. He faces a wideish draw eight, but on the plus side, he will get 3kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice.

Race 8

With three of her main rivals facing wide draws of fourteen, fifteen and sixteen, today’s value bet, SUBPOENAED will be hoping to capitalize on her cosy draw two. She is seldom far off the action and finished fifth over this c&d in a Group 1 race, 1.3L behind the winner last time out. She drew eighteen that day which forced her to race four wide and he then come fifteen wide into the home straight, which clearly cost her valuable ground.

She faces TOFANE, who won the race mentioned above on 3.5kgs worse terms, which on the face of it, should make her task of reversing that result extremely difficult, but the latter’s draw fourteen could just tip the scales in the former’s favor. TOFANE did however finish strongly to win that last outing and is likely to be doing her best work late.

Although SAVATIANO is recorded as finishing ninth last time out in a Group 1 event over 1300M, she was only 1.8L behind the winner and was reported to be lame in her near fore. She had finished second over today’s trip in her penultimate start, just a short-head behind the winner, also in a Group 1 race. She has subsequently won a barrier trial and her trainer is clearly happy with her condition. She does however need to overcome a wide draw sixteen.

Race 9

USMANOV has his hat-trick run after posting two victories over five furlongs, the latest by 0.8L. He raced up with the pace that day and then stayed on well, suggesting that the extra ground on offer here will be to his liking. He has pulled gate two and looks to be the one to side with here.

A 3yr old filly and a 5yr old mare could chase him home, with the preference going to AWAY GAME, who showed marked improvement in her latest start over six furlongs to finish sixth, 1.2L back from the victor when returning from a 15-week rest. She was only outrun late that day and despite facing a wide draw eleven, she should keep the top pick honest.

ZANIAH made good late progress to end up in second spot last time out over six furlongs in a Group 2 race, 2.3L adrift of the winner and the form of that race has been franked. She was friendless in the betting markets that day and notwithstanding being drawn the widest of them all in gate fifteen, she should be included in all bets.
