Race 6

The day’s best bet GDANSK followed up his two victories with a third-place and two second-place finishes in his next three outings, the latest over six furlongs, just under a half-length behind the winner. He was hampered at the start that day but recovered well to finish off his race strongly. From a handy draw two, he could prove to be difficult to topple here.

Two 3yr old fillies could chase him home, with the slight preference going to OAKFIELD ARROW who had her consistency rewarded with a head victory last time out over 1350M. She overraced in the middle stages and had to be checked off the heels of other runners at the 400M mark that day, so that effort was full of merit. She is however drawn the widest of them all in gate fourteen which won’t make her task easy, but nevertheless she could be the biggest danger to the top choice.

ALIGHTED had finished second in her last two runs prior to winning her last outing over seven furlongs by 1.3L. She made good late progress that day and the form of the race has been franked. She has a far kinder draw six and should be involved in the finish.

Race 7

LIZA WITH A ZEE is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys, but she followed up her penultimate run victory over 1100M with a fifth-place finish next time out over five furlongs, just over two lengths behind the winner. She stayed on well that day and from her cosy draw two, she should give the males a good run for their money.

DIXIE CAN has won two of his last four outings and finished sixth in his latest run over five furlongs, just over two and a half lengths back from the victor. The gelding finished well that day and whilst facing a wideish gate seven, he should be right up there when they hit the line.

UPRISE had to weave his way through traffic before ending up in second place last time out over 1210M, a neck back from the winner, but the form of that race has stood up well with three runners out of that contest subsequently winning. He returns from a 23-week break but has had the benefit of three barrier trials, winning the latest. His draw four will do him no harm.

Race 8

INVINCORE raced up with the pace and looked a possible winner before being collared in the shadow of the post to end up in third place last time out over five furlongs, just a neck behind the winner when returning from a 26-week absence. He jumps from gate six and could be the one to be with here.

EXCLUSIVE is seldom far off the action and although recorded as finishing sixth in his latest outing over six furlongs, he was just 3.7L off the winner. He has cracked pole position and should put in another honest performance today.

ZAC ATTACK is a 4yr old filly taking on males, but she had won and finished second in two of her last three outings prior to finishing last over six furlongs in her latest outing over six furlongs, seven and a half lengths adrift of the victor. She did however jump awkwardly that day and then was denied a clear run in the home stretch, so that effort is probably best ignored. She has pulled a wide gate fifteen, but she should be doing her best work late.

Race 9

PURRFECT DEAL is a 4yr old filly taking on boys, but she won her penultimate start over seven furlongs and then finished tenth next time out over a mile, just over six lengths back from the winner. She jumped awkwardly and was then bumped shortly after the start that day, so that effort can be excused. She steps up in distance today, but she did finish third over twelve furlongs three runs back, so this should not be an issue. She faces draw eleven but has her peak run after returning from a 22-week break.

OAKFIELD CHEROKEE has consistent formlines to his name, culminating with a short-head win last time out over 2100M. He has a kinder draw five and could be the one to pick up the pieces should the top pick fluff her lines.

POLEMIC won his last start over 1900M, putting three lengths between himself and the opposition. He raced three wide approaching the final turn that day, but then hit the front at the 150M pole and the race was over as a contest from that point. He has pulled gate seven and should be included in all bets.
