Race 3

This looks to be a tricky race to open up the day’s Jackpot with plenty of runners in with a realistic chance of finding the winner’s box, so some caution is suggested.

UNAMERICAN made solid improvement to win his last start over 2100M by a length. He raced up with the frontrunners that day and then hit the front at the 200M mark to win going away from the opposition. From draw five, he may be the one to side with here.

AUSTRATA stayed on well to finish sixth last time out over ten furlongs, 3.3L behind the winner. He is drawn the widest of them all in gate nine, but he should be right up there when they hit the line.

DEEL WITH ME has consistent formlines to his name, finishing third last time out over a mile, just under a length back from the winner, but he did not get the clearest of passages in the home straight, only seeing daylight at the 200M mark and could be considered an unlucky loser. From his kinder draw six, he should not be easily overlooked in this line-up.

Race 4

HEAD ON UP had her consistency rewarded with a neck victory last time out over 1100M, despite coming three-wide into the home straight. She has a handy draw four and could prove good enough to record a quick double.

PIPPALI had finished second and third in her two runs over seven furlongs and a mile respectively prior to ending up in fourth place last time out when dropping down to 1100M, 3.8L off the winner when returning from a 23-week break. She had to be restrained off the heels of other runners at the 600M pole and was then hampered at the 100M mark. She gets gate seven and with better luck in running, she could threaten the top choice.

FIFTEEN ARIA was bumped at the start before finishing seventh in her latest outing over a mile, just under five lengths adrift of the winner and the form of that race has been franked. The 4ye old filly returns from a 17-week break, but has had the benefit of two barrier trials, finishing third in the first and winning the second. Her draw three will do her no harm.

Race 5

PARK AVENUE has only had the three runs to date, winning his first two over today’s distance and then missing out on his hat-trick when stepping up to six furlongs last time out, finishing third, just under two and a half lengths back from the winner. He returns from a 12-week rest but has finished second and first in his two barrier trials to showcase his well-being. He jumps from a cosy draw four and is taken to be the best bet on the day’s card.

A VERY FINE RED is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys, but she has also only had the three runs, winning over today’s trip on debut and then finishing third over the same distance last time out, 3.3L off the winner. It should however be noted that she had to be eased off the heels of other runners at the 600M mark and was then held up between the 400M and 200M marks that day, so that effort may not be as bad as it initially looked. She has a wide draw eleven, but nevertheless, she could be the biggest threat to the top pick.

TRISTATE showed marked improvement when winning his last outing over 1100M by 1.3L on returning from a 20-week absence. He has a far kinder draw three and should be involved in the finish.

Race 6

Today’s value bet, NOT ANOTHER REIBY completed his hat-trick when going from jump to wire to win by 1.8L last time out over 1100M. He faces a wideish gate eight, but given his style of racing, he should use his early gate speed to move across without expending too much energy. The quartet of victories is certainly on the cards.

SON OF SAMPSON on the other hand goes for his trio of wins after victories over 1300M and the latest over six furlongs, winning by 0.8L, notwithstanding coming three-wide into the home stretch. He jumps from draw five and should be right up there in the firing line.

LOCH LOMOND is seldom far off the action and although recorded as finishing seventh in his latest outing over seven furlongs, he was just two and a half lengths back from the victor and the form of that race has been franked. He has his first run since a 20-week rest but has had the two barrier trials, finishing fourth in the first and second in the latest. He will need to negotiate draw nine but should be included in all bets.
