Race 4

This looks to be a tricky F&M race to open the day’s Jackpot, with plenty of runners in with a realistic chance of finding the winner’s box, so some caution is suggested. In addition, there are four unraced runners in the field, so as is always the case in these types of races, a keen eye should be kept on the betting markets to get some indication as to whether the connections believe that they can win first time out. Any betting support for a runner or runners should be respected.

Of the raced runners, YOUR TOO GOOD could prove to be the best. She has only had the two runs to date, finishing second over this trip on debut and then following that up with a third spot finish next time out over the same distance, just over two lengths behind the winner. She jumped awkwardly that day and the form of the race has been franked. She returns from a 19-week rest but has finished second in her two barrier trials to prove her fitness. From pole position, she should be right up there when they hit the line.

BAHAMA has also had just the two outings, but she showed the expected improvement when ending up in third place second time out over five furlongs, 1.7L back from the winner, despite coming four wide into the home straight. She has a wideish draw nine, but if she has continued down that same path of improvement, she should make her presence felt in this line-up.

NAPLES is drawn one inside the latter and finished strongly to fill second place last time out over this c&d, just a head behind the winner. She should be included in all bets.

Race 5

With the late scratching of one of his main rivals, the door may have opened for today’s value bet MARSHALL DILLON to chalk up his second career victory. He had his consistency rewarded after two-second place finishes in a row with a victory last time out over five furlongs. He put four and a half lengths between himself and the opposition that day and was immediately rested for 31 weeks. He returns here after having had three barrier trials, winning the last two and from his handy draw four he could be too good for this field.

DIAMOND HANDS won a head over this distance on debut in spite of being friendless in the betting markets. That victory was made all the more encouraging as his saddle slipped shortly after the start, giving his jockey a difficult ride. He returns from a shorter 19-week rest but has had the benefit of two barriers trials, finishing second in the first and third in the latest. He will have to negotiate gate ten, but he should continue to improve and should be a big runner here.

BULLET RIDER has finished closer to the winner in each of his last three runs, culminating with a one-length victory last time out over six furlongs. He jumped awkwardly that day and the form of that race has stood up well with two runners out of that contest subsequently winning. He has his first outing since a 32-week absence but has had the two barrier trials, finishing third in the first and second in the latest. He gets a wideish gate eight, but should not be easily overlooked.

Race 6

SUNBORN is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she followed up her penultimate run victory over 1300M with a third-place finish next time out when dropping down to six furlongs, 2.3L behind the winner, but she did come three-wide into the home stretch that day and should have finished closer to the winner as a result. Having said that, the form of that race has been franked and she has cracked pole position. As such, she is taken to be the best bet on the day’s program.

Although CRAZY WOLF is recorded as finishing fifth in his last outing over 1300M, he was just under a length back from the winner. He came from some way off the pace that day and only saw daylight at the 300M mark, before finishing off his race strongly. He faces a wide gate ten, but he is likely to be dropped out of it early and then start to pick off the frontrunners over the closing stages of the contest.

ARMATREE is drawn one inside the latter and had finished second in his penultimate start over 1300M at this track before being slightly disappointing next time out over seven furlongs, seven lengths adrift of the winner, but that was at a stronger centre. He will be hoping to reproduce his better form today and if doing so, he should be involved in the finish.

Race 7

KYPREOS has finished third in his last two outings, the latest over a mile when 4.3L behind the winner, but he was making good late progress that day and, on that effort, he should appreciate the extra ground on offer here. He has pulled a wideish gate nine, but he looks to be the one to side with today.

JUST A BROTHER won his penultimate start over a mile and then finished fourth next time out over the same journey, just a half-length back from the winner. He did not get the clearest of passages in the home straight that day, only securing a gap at the 200M mark. He starts from a cosy gate four and with better luck in running today, he should be right up there in the mix.

COMMAND KING stayed on well when eighth in his last outing over a mile, 2.7L behind the victor. He will have to overcome a wide gate twelve, but he should be doing his best work late.
