Race 4

Two 4yr old fillies could fight out the finish to this race and complete the exacta. The slight preference goes to DON’TFORGETMONICA who stayed on well to finish sixth last time out over six furlongs, just over a length behind the winner when returning from a 26 week break. She came three wide into the straight that day and from gate six, she will be looking to improve on that effort. DULCERO returns from a lengthy 35 week rest and has her first run for her new trainer. She has had the benefit of three barrier trials, finishing third in the latest. She faces a wide draw ten, but if fully settled into her new surroundings, she could threaten the top choice. TEXAN WINDSTORM has only had the one run, finishing fourth over five furlongs, one and a half lengths back from the winner. He has cracked pole position and should not be lightly dismissed. Keep an eye on the betting on FRIEND OF GOD who has put in three solid barrier trial. Any betting support for her should be respected.

Race 5

Today’s best bet, ASHRA JAHRE is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she is seldom far off the action and finished fourth last time out over 1100M, just over one and a half lengths behind the winner. She is a speedy sort who should not find it difficult to move across from her poor draw ten without using up too much energy. Expect another honest performance from her. OKUDAH won by half a length on debut over five furlongs and was immediately rested for 25 weeks. He returns here after having had four barrier trials, winning the latest. He jumps from a kinder gate six and could emerge as the biggest danger to the top choice. IN FIORE has an even better pole position. He finished strongly to end up in fifth place last time out over 1280M, just under three and a half lengths back from the victor. The form of that race has been franked and the gelding should be involved in the finish.

Race 6

SAQUON has only had the three runs to date, recording a win and a second place finish after an unplaced effort on debut. He put nearly two and a half lengths between himself and the second horse when winning his maiden race over 1100M last time out. He has his first run since a 24 week break, but has had the benefit of four barrier trials, finishing second in the latest. He jumps from draw six and could be the one to side with here. MEDIA STARGUEST returns from a 19 week absence, but has had the two barrier trials. He finished a half length second in his last run over 1500M before the rest and the form of that race has stood up well. He goes from gate four and should be right up there in the mix. EXPAT is a 3yr old filly taking on males, but she has only had the two runs so far, winning over 1100M on debut and then finishing fifth next time out over six furlongs, two and a half lengths behind the winner. She is drawn between the top two picks and should be included in all bets.

Race 7

A 5yr old mare and a 4yr old filly could battle out the finish to this race and secure the exacta, but the day’s value bet, DUNDEE LEE is chosen to be the top pick. She was making good late progress when finishing fourth last time out over six furlongs, just under two and a half lengths off the victor. She was returning from a 32 week absence that day and despite having to negotiate draw nine, she could record her fourth career victory. HAVIN’ FUN overraced in the early and middle stages and then had to be eased at the 1100M mark before finishing third last time out over seven furlongs, just a length adrift of the winner. She is drawn one inside the former and has her first start for her new trainer. If fully acclimatized in her new environment, she should be respect here. CAMP RIFLE is a speedy sort who finished second in her last outing over 1375M, a half length behind the winner. From one gate inside the latter, she should enjoy the slight drop in trip.
