Race 4

ANANAGRAM finished well when making solid improvement to finish third last time out over 1280M, just one length behind the winner. On that effort, the extra ground on offer here should be to his liking. He will have to negotiate gate nine, but still looks to be the one to side with here. DULCERO is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys. She was bumped at the 1000M mark before ending up in fifth place last time out over six furlongs, just under four lengths back from the winner. She was returning from a lengthy 35 week break that day, but from gate five, she should give the males a good run for their money. CAPITAL VENTURE is drawn one outside the latter and tried to go from jump to wire before finishing fifth last time out over 1440M, 3.8L off the victor. He is seldom far off the action and should turn in another honest performance today.

Race 5

RUA RAPOSA followed up her penultimate run victory over 1405M with a second place finish next time out over 1610M, just under two lengths behind the winner and was immediately rested for 35 weeks. She returns here after putting in an encouraging barrier trial and the form of her last race has stood up well. She jumps from draw eight and should be right up there when they hit the line. MISS EPORETTO is drawn one onside the former and overraced in her last start when finishing sixth over this c&d, just over six lengths back from the winner. As a result, her trainer has re-fitted the cheek pieces for today’s run and if this move has the desired effect, she could emerge as the biggest threat to the top choice. UNEARTHED overraced in the middle stages before ending up in sixth spot last time out over 1100M, 3.8L back from the winner when returning from a 19 week rest. She has cracked pole position and should be included in all bets.

Race 6

Today’s best bet, FLEET AIR ARM put two and a half lengths between himself and the balance of the field when winning first time out over 1100M. He hit the front entering the home straight and galloped away from the opposition, despite racing green. She would have learnt from that experience and whilst having to deal with gate seven, on the plus side, he will get 2kgs removed from his allocated weight courtesy of his claiming apprentice. BRAVIO jumped awkwardly and was then bumped shortly after the start, before racing wide in the latter stages to finish ninth last time out over seven furlongs, just over four and a half lengths behind the winner and that effort is best ignored. He has a handy draw two and if bouncing back to his previous form, he looks to be the immediate danger to the top pick. ONE STAR SHINING bled when winning his last outing over seven furlongs by just over a half length and returns here after a 17 week suspension. He has had the one barrier trial to prove his fitness and should be involved in the finish here.

Race 7

OKUDAH has only had the two runs to date, winning over five furlongs on debut and then finishing third last time out over six furlongs, three lengths behind the winner when returning from a 25 week absence. He raced three wide that day, but made good late progress over the closing stages, suggesting the slightly longer trip will be to his liking. He jumps from gate six and could be the one that they all have to beat. RIGHTFUL HEIR returns from an 18 week break and has not had the benefit of a barrier trial, so his fitness will have to be taken on trust, but he did win his penultimate start over 1300M and then finished fifth last time out over seven furlongs, two and a half lengths off the winner. The form of that race has subsequently been franked. He is drawn one inside the top selection and should keep him honest. BUDHWAR finished third in his last outing over six furlongs, four lengths adrift of the victor when returning from a 15 week rest. He is a speedy sort who, now with the four late scratchings, will jump from gate eight and he should use that early gate speed to move across without expending too much energy.
