Race 4.

TANGO STEPZ is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she has turned in two solid recent performances, the latest when third over five furlongs, one and a half lengths behind the winner. She was crowded shortly after the start that day and the form of that race has been franked. From her handy draw two, she could be the one that they all have to beat. OKUDAH has only had the three runs to date, but the gelding won on debut over five furlongs and has finished third in his last two outings, the latest over 1280M, just under two lengths back from the winner. He tried to go from jump to wire that day and is sure to put his pole position to good use today. BETHPAGE is another 4yr old filly in the race. She won her first start over 1175M by 2.7L and was promptly moved to a new stable. She has her first run for the yard and if fully settled into her new surroundings, she could make her presence felt in this line-up.

Race 5.

Two 4yr old fillies could fight out the finish to this race and complete the exacta, but the nod goes to FRANKLY SAVVY to lead the pack home. She returns from a 27 week break, but has posted an encouraging barrier trial to prove her fitness. She has only had the two runs so far, winning on debut over 1300M and then finishing third next time out when stepping up to seven furlongs, just over a length back from the winner. She will have to negotiate a wide gate fourteen, but with luck in running, she should be right up there when they hit the line. DON’TFORGETMONICA goes for her hat-trick after wins over 1300M and the latest over seven furlongs by a half length. She finished well that day and although facing a wide draw eleven, the trio of victories is very much on the cards. FICHEUR is seldom far off the action and attempted to go from gun to tape last time out over 1300M, but eventually ending up in third place, one and a half lengths adrift of the winner. He jumps from draw seven and should keep the two fillies honest.

Race 6.

Today’s best bet, AKASAWA won first time out over 1500M and then finished second in his next outing over 1450M, just a head behind the winner when returning from a 22 week rest. He had nothing go his way that day, having been checked and crowed at the 200M mark and then being carried wide from that point down to the wire. With all that, he should be considered an unlucky loser. He faces a wide draw twelve, but he will be looking to make amends today. LAND AHOY is a 3yr old filly taking on males, but she had her consistency rewarded with a victory last time out over this mile journey by almost two lengths, this despite coming the widest into the home straight. She faces a wideish draw eight, but she not be lightly dismissed in this field. MABEL JOSEPHINE is a 5yr old mare who followed up her penultimate run victory over 1450M with a third place finish next time out over 1500M, one and a half lengths back from the winner. She was making good late progress that day and from draw five, she should be involved in the finish here.

Race 7.

LOPE DE BROKER has only had the two runs, but after a disappointing debut over 1100M he was immediately rested for a lengthy 44 weeks. This was obviously just what he needed as he returned with a victory over five furlongs by 2.2L. He showed plenty of speed that day and from draw two, he is taken to be the value bet on the day’s program. EYEWITNESS is a 3yr old filly taking on boys, but she had four barrier trials before winning by a neck on debut over five furlongs and could be just about anything as she took a heavy bump at the start that day. She has cracked pole position and should give the boys a good run for their money. GUMNUTS on the other hand will have to overcome draw fifteen. He won his maiden race last time out over six furlongs by putting four and a half lengths between himself and the opposition and has the early gate speed to move across without expending too much energy. The gelding should be included in all bet.
