Race 4.

WARDADDY showed lots of toe when winning on debut over five furlongs and then finished second next time out over the same sprint distance, just a head behind the winner when returning from a 16 week break. He attracted plenty of attention in the betting markets that day, suggestion that he had been showing good work back at home. He is drawn the widest of them all in gate twelve, but he clearly has some ability and could be the one to side with in this line-up. FLASH POINT is a 5yr mare taking on the boys, but she showed good improvement when dropping down to five furlongs last time out, ending up in second place, a half length back from the winner. She was returning from a longer 28 week absence that day and did come three wide into the home straight before being slightly hampered at the 150M mark. She jumps from a wideish gate nine, but she should give the males a good run for their money. COLOUR DE ROY has finished closer to the winner in each of his last three runs, the latest when third over 1100M, just over two lengths adrift of the victor. He tried to go from jump to wire that day and from draw five, he is likely to attempt similar tactics today.

Race 5.

FIVE CROWNS has won his first two starts, over six furlongs on debut and then following that up with a 1.3L victory over 1300M. he finished strongly that day, suggesting that he should appreciate the extra ground on offer here. He has cracked pole position and will have 3kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice to aid his cause. As such, he is made the best bet on the day’s card. DYNASTIES is a 3yr old filly taking on males, but she also won over six furlongs on debut and then finished second last time out when stepping up to seven furlongs, a half length behind the winner. She found herself at the rear of the field entering the home straight in that contest, but finished off her race powerfully. She, on the other hand, is drawn the widest of them all in gate nine, but given her style of racing, she should be doing her best work late and could be the biggest threat to the top choice. SHAKA ROCK showed marked improvement to finish third last time out over a mile, just over a length off the winner and the form of that race has been franked. He hit the front as the field turned to face the judge and was only run out of it very late. From gate five, he should be involved in the finish.

Race 6.

UNWAVERING FAITH is a 4yr old filly taking on boys, but she has won two of her last three runs, the latest over 2100M by a head. She settled in just behind the leaders in that race and then kicked clear at the 100M mark to win going away from the opposition. She is drawn in gate five and looks to be the one that they all have to beat. RODRICK’S SECRET is drawn one inside the top pick and followed up his penultimate run victory over a mile with a fifth place finish last time out over nine furlongs, just over two and a half lengths back from the winner, but he did come four wide into the home stretch that day and the form of the race has been franked. LORD DESANIMAUX also won his penultimate start over a mile and then stayed on well to end up in third spot in his latest outing over nine furlongs, 3.2L behind the winner. He was hampered at the 250M pole that day and the form of that race has stood up well with two runners out of the contest subsequently winning. Despite a wideish gate eight, he should be included in all bets.

Race 7.

With the late scratchings of two of her main rivals, the door may have opened for today’s value bet, YUMI, to chalk up her third career victory. She is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she goes for her hat-trick after two victories over today’s distance, the latest by a length and the form of that race has been franked. She battled all the way down to the wire that day and should use her early gate speed to move across from her wide draw twelve, without expending too much energy. REMUS on the other hand missed out on his trio of victories when finishing sixth last time out over a mile, three and a half lengths back from the winner, but it should be noted that he overraced and had to be steadied off the heels of other runners at the1400M mark and then raced wide from the 650M pole. The form of that race has however stood up well with three runners from that event subsequently winning. He returns from an 18 week rest, but has put in two fair barrier trials and from a cozy draw four, he should be right up there when they hit the line. RAAY OF DREAMS is a 5yr old mare who is seldom far off the action and finished second in her latest outing over six furlongs, 1.3L behind the winner. She stayed on well that day and is sure to put her pole position to good use to turn in another honest performance today.
