Race 5.

JET PACK followed up his penultimate run victory over six furlongs with a second place finish next time out over the same trip, 2.8L behind the winner. He drifted out approaching the home turn that day, but still managed to finish off his race well and the form of that contest has been franked. He gets draw five and whilst returning from an 18 week rest, he has had the benefit of two barrier trials, finishing second in the latest to showcase his fitness. OFFYAROCATWO is drawn one inside the top choice and showed marked improvement to finish third in his latest outing over five furlongs, just a neck back from the winner. He came four wide into the home straight that day, but stayed on well over the closing stages. He has his peak run since returning from a 13 week rest and if confirming that last effort, he should be right up there when they hit the line. KLOPP showed solid improvement to win his maiden race last time out over 1100M by a length and the form of that race has been franked. He takes on stronger here, but he has his peak outing since returning from a longer 26 week break. He faces a wideish gate eight, but nevertheless, he should be included in all bets.

Race 6.

A 5yr old mare and a 4yr old filly could fight out the finish to this race and complete the exacta, but LOBSTER NOODLES is taken to lead the pack home. She showed good improvement when winning her last start over seven furlongs by 1.3L after striking the front at the 250M mark and then fighting off all the late challengers in the dash down to the wire. From gate six, she will be looking to chalk up a quick double. TOO MUCH CLASS won her penultimate run over a mile and then finished fifth over the same distance next time out, 4.3L adrift of the victor. She did come four wide into the home stretch that day, but looked a possible winner at the 300M pole when taking the lead, but was run out of it late, so the drop in trip should be to her liking. The form of that last race has been franked and from her handy draw two, she should be considered as a serious runner in this line-up. BAK DA MAN is seldom far off the action, ending up in fourth place last time out over 1300M, 2.2L back from the winner. He was returning from a 20 week rest that day and overraced in the early stages before coming the widest of them all into the home straight, but still managing to make good late progress. His draw five will do him no harm.

Race 7.

The day’s best bet, FIVE CROWNS has won his first two runs, his maiden over six furlongs and then the next when stepping up to 1300M by 1.3L. He finished powerfully in that contest, suggesting that the further increase in distance will be to his liking. The form of that last outing has also been franked and from his cozy draw three, the hat-trick is very much on the cards. DALGARNO has won two of his last three runs, the latest by two lengths over this c&d. He was slow away in that race, finding himself at the back of the field and had to come four wide into the home straight to get a clear run, but he mowed down the opposition over the latter stages. He jumps from gate five and appears to be the obvious danger to the top pick. BARRY’S LANE has finished second in his last three outings and tried to go from jump to wire before ending up just under half a length off the winner last time out over a mile. He has cracked pole position and will be hoping to go one better today.

Race 8.

Two fillies and a mare could dominate the finish to this race and secure the trifecta, but the day’s value bet, LITTLE PROPHET is made the top choice. She has finished closer to the winner in each of her last three runs, culminating with a victory last time out over 1100M by just under half a length. She returns from a 26 week absence, but did finish second in her only barrier trial. She jumps from gate two and if repeating that last effort, she could find herself back in the winner’s box. EMMY’S OUR GIRL is drawn one outside the former and is seldom far off the action. Although recorded as finishing seventh in her latest start over five furlongs, she was just 3.2L behind the winner on a heavy track. She is a speedy sort who may well keep going to record her fourth career victory here. LUCKY SHAM was friendless in the betting markets when showing sudden improvement to win a head last time out over this c&d. She was slow away and then had to be held up approaching the home turn, but finished well to claim victory in the shadow of the post. From her draw one outside the latter, she should not be lightly dismissed.
