Race 7.

This looks to be a tricky race to start off the day’s Jackpot with plenty of runners in with a realistic chance of finding the winner’s box, so some caution is suggested. The tentative top choice goes to CONTRIBUTINGFACTOR who is looking to complete his hat-trick after wins over 1300M and the latest over a mile by just over half a length. He came three-wide into the home straight that day and then hit the front at the 200M mark before holding off all the late challengers in the dash down to the wire. From gate six, he could be the one to side with here. LEASE is drawn one inside the top pick and has consistent form lines to his name, having finished second, third and then second again last time out over a mile, beaten just a short-head. He overraced in the middle stages that day, but took the lead entering the home straight, only to be grabbed in the shadow of the post. FESTIVAL DANCER is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys, but she completed her trio of victories when going from jump to wire to win her last start over a mile by putting nearly five and a half lengths between herself and the opposition. She will have to negotiate a wideish draw nine, but she should give the males a good run for their money.

Race 8.

LOST AND RUNNING finished second in his last outing over 1300M, just over one length back from the winner, but he did finish fourth in The Everest, the world richest turf race, in his penultimate start over six furlongs, beaten just over two lengths and the form of that race has stood up well with three runners out of that contest subsequently winning. He does face a wide draw seventeen, but he should use his early gate speed to move across without expending too much energy. BANDERSNATCH has his hat-trick run after two victories over seven furlongs, the latest by 3.3L. He does return from an 18-week rest, but he did finish second in his only barrier trial to showcase his well-being. From a kinder gate eight, he is expected to push the top choice hard. TOP RANKED is drawn one inside the latter and finished second in his last start over a mile, one and a half lengths behind the winner and was then moved to a new yard and rested for 18 weeks. He has his first run for his new trainer here, but has had the one barrier trial, where he finished fourth. If fully settled into his new surroundings, he should give a good account of himself here and should be included in all bets.

Race 9.

The day’s best bet, NORWEGIAN BLISS has won all of her first three starts to date, the latest over 1250M by just under half a length, this despite jumping awkwardly and coming three-wide into the home stretch. Her second victory was at this venue, so she will be familiar with her surroundings. From draw six, she could prove hard to topple. Although FASHCHANEL is recorded as finishing eighth last time out over seven furlongs, she was just over two lengths off the winner. She tried to go from jump to wire that day and was only run out of it late. She gets a cozy gate four and has her peak run after returning from a 21-week break and could emerge as the biggest danger to the top pick. TINKER MCPHEE, by coincidence, also finished eighth in her last outing over seven furlongs, but in her case, 2.4L behind the winner. She did hang out badly from the 600M pole and was also reported to be lame in her off-fore that day, so did well to finish as close to the winner as she did. She returns from a 32-week absence but has had the benefit of two barrier trials, winning the latest to prove her fitness. She gets a wideish draw nine, but nevertheless, she should be involved in the finish.

Race 10.

KATALIN is a 5yr old mare taking on males, but she won her latest outing over six furlongs by a head when returning from a 19 week absence. She only saw daylight at the 250M mark in that contest, but then finished strongly to claim victory and on that performance, she should appreciate the extra ground on offer today. As such, she is taken to be the value bet on the day’s program, jumping from her draw seven. GRAVINA’S last three outings have yielded a third, second and another third place finish last time out over six furlongs, just a neck behind the winner. The form of that race has stood up well with two runners out of that contest subsequently winning. He gets a handy draw three and should be right up there when they hit the line. ON THE LEAD had his consistency rewarded with a head victory last time out over 1100M. That win was made even more encouraging by the fact that he did not get the clearest of passages in the home straight, but finished his race off well. The gelding jumps from a wideish gate nine, but should not be easily overlooked in this line-up.
