Race 5

LE FIGARO is a 5yr old mare taking on the boys, but she is seldom far off the action and although seventh last time out over six furlongs, she was just over three lengths behind the winner. It should however be noted that was in a stronger centre. She gets gate six and a set of blinkers are fitted for the first time. If these have the desired effect, she could be difficult to topple in this line-up and is taken to be the best bet on the day’s card.

SWEEPING THE BOARD has consistent formlines to his name and stayed on well when ending up in fourth place last time out over six furlongs, 0.8L back from the winner when returning from a 21-week break. He has a handy draw two and will have 3kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice and could emerge as the biggest threat to the top choice.

PRIDE OF PYINGERRA missed out on his hat-trick when finishing eighth in his latest outing over six furlongs, just under four lengths adrift of the victor. He has cracked pole position and will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways here.

Race 6

The day’s value bet, DOLLSON had his consistency rewarded with a victory last time out over six furlongs, albeit by just a short-head. He went from jump to wire that day and from gate six, he will probably attempt similar tactics here. The 6yr old may prove difficult to reel in over the closing stages.

RARI is a speedy sort who put two lengths between himself and the opposition to win last time out over six furlongs. He is sure to put his pole position to good use.

SEE IT THRU made good late progress to finish third in his last outing over six furlongs, just over a half-length behind the winner. He faces a wide draw ten, but given his style of running, he is likely to be dropped out of it in the early stages and then start to pick off the frontrunners over the latter stages of the contest.

Race 7

WILLO TITTO is a 6yr old mare taking on males, but she followed up her penultimate run win with a third-place finish next time out over the same trip, just a neck behind the winner, this despite being bumped at the start. She has a cosy gate four and should give the boys a good run for their money.

READY TO HUMBLE jumped awkwardly before recovering well to show marked improvement to emerge victorious by a length last time out over seven furlongs. He has pulled pole position and if able to confirm that last effort, he should be right up there when they hit the line.

SRORM ATTACK has finished closer to the winner in his last four outings, culminating with a win last time out over seven furlongs, just under a half-length ahead of the chasing pack. He went from gun to tape that day and the form of that race has stood up well with two runners out of the contest subsequently winning. His draw six will do him no harm and he should be included in all bets.

Race 8

RIOT ACT slammed his field by four lengths when stepping up to nine furlongs last time out. He slipped the field at the 800M mark that day and then strode home for a comfortable victory. He has a wideish gate nine and steps in distance once again, but the manner in which he finished off his race in that last contest would suggest that this should not be an issue.

ARCTIC WOLF had to be steadied at the six-furlong pole last time out but still finished third over ten furlongs, just over one length back from the winner. He jumps from draw seven and get the cheekpieces fitted for the first time today. If these help him to keep his mind on the task at hand, he should be a serious contender here.

PLEASED showed solid improvement to win his last start over ten furlongs by half a length, notwithstanding moving up three wide approaching the final turn. He then hit the front at the 300M mark and held off all the chasing pack in the dash down to the wire. He will have to negotiate draw eleven out of fourteen, but should not be lightly dismissed today.
