Race 6.

KEMENTARI found a strong finish to win his last start over 1350M by half a length and on that effort, he should enjoy the slight step up in trip of today’s race. From a handy draw four, he looks to be the one to side with in this line-up. NUDGE is a 5yr old mare taking on the boys, but she has consistent formlines to her name and had to be held up and then hampered at the 150M mark before finishing third last time out over six furlongs, 1.8L behind the winner. She finished off her race well that day when eventually seeing daylight and whilst drawn wide in gate twelve, she should be doing her best work late. ELEVEN ELEVEN followed up his penultimate run victory over five furlongs with an eighth place finish next time out over six furlongs, just over six lengths adrift of the victor, but he has won a subsequent barrier trial and from a kinder draw five, he will be looking to bounce back to winning ways today.

Race 7.

Three fillies could dominate the finish to this $2M sprint and complete the trifecta, but the day’s best bet, COOLANGATTA is taken to lead the field home to claim the major portion of the spoils. She is two from two so far, both wins coming in Group 3 events, the latest when putting 2.3L between herself and the opposition over six furlongs. She is a speedy sort, so should use that early gate speed to move across from her wide draw thirteen without consuming too much energy. RUSSIAN CONQUEST is also unbeaten in her first two outings, the latest when winning over 1100M by just over three lengths, this despite coming three wide into the home straight. She kicked clear of the field at the 300M mark and was eased down approaching the finishing post to record an impressive victory. She gets a handy gate four and could be the biggest danger to the top choice. MISS HELLFIRE finished second on debut over 1100M and then made the expected improvement to win her next start over the same trip by 0.7L. She struck the front at the 200M pole that day and then held off the chasing pack in the dash down to the wire. She will have to negotiate draw eleven, but she should, nevertheless still be involved in the finish.

Race 8.

JAMAEA is a 3yr old filly taking on males, but her eight runs so far have yielded three wins and two second place finishes. She won her penultimate start over six furlongs and was then disappointing next time out, finishing eighth over seven furlongs, just over four lengths behind the winner and was immediately rested for 16 weeks. She returns here after having had three barrier trials, winning the first and finishing third in the next two to showcase her well-being. She faces a wideish gate eight, but should turn in another honest performance today and as such, she is made the value bet on the card. STARMAN has won two of his last three outings, the latest over six furlongs by 3.3L. He raced just behind the leaders in that contest before hitting the front at the 200M mark, effectively putting the race to bed at that point. The gelding is drawn one inside the top pick and should keep her honest. KING OF SPARTA was slow away and overraced in the early stages, but still managed to find a powerful finish to end up in third spot last time out over six furlongs, 0.8L off the winner. He was returning from an eleven week rest that day and faces a wide draw thirteen, but given his style of racing, he is likely to be dropped out of it in the early stages and then should start to pick off the frontrunners over the closing stages of the race.

Race 9.

MIAMI FLEISS is a 4yr old filly taking on boys, but she missed out on her hat-trick after wins over 1300M and six furlongs when finishing eighth last time out over six furlongs, just over three lengths behind the winner. She jumped awkwardly and was force to race wide that day before hanging in over the last 150M, so did well to finish as close to the winner as she did. She will have to overcome a wide draw fifteen out of sixteen, but she is likely to use her early speed to track across without expending too much gas. WISDOM OF WATER has not fared too well with his drawn either, getting one gate inside the top pick. He had to be held up at the 400M mark and then hung out from the 150M pole, but still managed to secure his fourth career victory last time out over six furlongs, albeit by just a neck. He should be right up there when they hit the line. I AM LETHAL showed plenty of toe and kept on going well to win his last outing over six furlongs by two lengths and the form of that race has been franked. From his far cozier draw two, he should be included in all bets.
