Race 4.

SWORD POINT has only had the four runs to date and came three wide into the home straight before hitting the front at the 250M mark to put the contest to bed at that point, wining his maiden race last time out over 1500M by 3.3L. He takes on stronger here, but has a handy draw two and may well be up to the task at hand. SWEET RUBY is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys, but she has won two of her last three outings, the latest over seven furlongs by 1.3L, despite being bumped at the start and coming five wide into the home stretch. The form of that race has been franked and from draw six and with having 3kgs taken off her back thanks to her claiming apprentice, she should give the males a good run for their money. SUPREMO jumped awkwardly but recovered quickly to take the lead before ending up in eighth place last time out over seven furlongs, four and a half lengths adrift of the victor. He is drawn one inside the latter and has his peak run since returning from a 22 week rest, as well as having 2kgs removed from his allocated weight courtesy of his claiming apprentice to aid his cause.

Race 5.

QUATENUS has consistent formlines to her name having posted two firsts, two seconds and one third place finish from her first five outings to date. She raced up with the speed when finishing second last time out over 1100M, one and a half lengths behind the winner. She faces a wide draw ten, but on the plus side, she will have 3kgs taken off her back for the services of her claiming apprentice and is taken to be the value bet on the day’s card. TWITCH is seldom far off the action and her first four runs so far have yielded one win, two seconds and a third place finish. She finished well when third last time out over 1100M, 2.3L off the winner, suggesting that she should appreciated the extra ground on offer here. She jumps from a kinder gate five and has a 1.5kg claiming apprentice in the irons. NEVER SECOND goes for her hat-trick after two wins over today’s distance, the latest by two and a half lengths. She went from jump to wire that day and from a wide draw eleven here, she is likely to use that early gate speed to tack across without expending too much energy. She will be assisted with 3kgs being taken off her back for her claiming apprentice.

Race 6.

The day’s best bet, CONCOCTED won over five furlongs three runs back and has turned in two solid efforts since then and although recorded as finishing sixth last time out over 1300M, he was only just under three lengths behind the winner, with his jockey putting up 0.5kgs overweight. The colt returns from a 20 week break, but has had the benefit of three barrier trials, finishing second in the latest. The form of that last race has been franked and from a cozy draw two, he could prove a hard horse to topple. BROKEN ARROWS has his first run since a shorter 17 week rest and has had two barrier trials, winning the latest to showcase his well-being. He did not get the clearest of passages in the home straight when finishing tenth in his latest start over six furlongs, just over two and a half lengths behind the winner, but from gate six and with better luck in the running and having 3kgs removed from his back for his claiming apprentice, he could emerge as the biggest danger to the top choice. TWICE AS SPECIAL is a 5yr old mare taking on males, but she has finished second in her last two outings, the latest over six furlongs, just under a half length back from the winner. She was staying on well that day and from her wideish draw eight, she should be doing her best work late.

Race 7.

SUR LA MER is a 4yr old filly taking on boys, but she is seldom far off the action and found a strong finish to end up in second spot last time out over seven furlongs, just a head behind the winner. She has pulled gate five and should be right up there when they hit the line. MENSA MISSILE tried to go from gun to tape before finishing fourth last time out over 1300M, just under two lengths back from the winner. He will have to overcome draw ten, but he does have his peak run after returning from a 25 week absence. GALAXY BELLE on the other hand has cracked pole position. She is another 4yr old filly in the race and completed her hat-trick all over nine furlongs last time out, the latest by 1.3L. She raced up with the leaders that day and should not be troubled with the drop in distance. She returns from a 17 week break, but has finished second and third in her two barrier trials to prove her fitness. She gets the services of a 3kg claiming apprentice and should be included in all bets.
