Race 4.

A 4yr old and a 3yr old filly can fight out the finish to this race and complete the exacta, but the day’s value bet, LADYLOVESTOGAMBLE is taken to lead them home. She had her consistency rewarded with a two length victory last time out over 1900M and the form of that race has been franked. She went from jump to wire that day, accelerating smartly at the 200M mark to draw away from the chasing pack over the closing stages. She will have to negotiate draw thirteen, but she could prove good enough to record a quick double. DARLING DIAMOND has shown steady improvement in her last three outings, finishing fifth last time out over a mile, just under a length and a half behind the winner. She had to be steadied at the 250M pole that day and only saw daylight at the 100M peg, before finishing well. She has a handy gate four and with better luck in running today, she should be right up there when they hit the line. SOLAR APEX is seldom far off the action and ended up in fifth place in his last start over 1500M, three lengths back from the winner, but he was bumped at the start and did well to finish as close to the winner as he did. He jumps from gate six and should be included in all bets.

Race 5.

I SAY HELLO has only had the two runs to date, but she won over six furlongs on debut and was then rested for a lengthy 50 weeks, before finishing strongly to end up in second place over the same c&d, on her return, just a head behind the winner. The form of that race has also been franked. She came the widest into the straight that day and would, no doubt, have come on further with the run under her belt. She faces draw ten, but she should be doing her best work late and is made the top bet on the program. SALATEEN missed out on her hat-trick when finishing fifth last time out over six furlongs, 3.2L adrift of the victor, but the form of that race has stood up well. She has her peak run here after returning from 20 week absence and whilst having an even wider draw twelve, she nevertheless could emerge as the biggest danger to the top choice. WHOLESOME DELIGHT followed up her win over five furlongs three runs back with two fourth place finishes, the latest over 1100M when just over a length and a half back from the winner. She was returning from a 22 week break that day and despite facing a wideish gate nine, she should be involved in the finish.

Race 6.

RUSTIC STEEL won first time out over 1100M and then although eighth in his second start over five furlongs, he was just over two lengths off the winner. He was hampered in the straight that day and was also reported to have been cut into, so that effort was encouraging. He has gate three and will have a set of blinkers fitted for the first time. If these have the desired effect, he could prove to be the one that they all have to beat. ARMATREE won his penultimate outing over 1100M and then ended up in third spot next time out when stepping up to six furlongs, one and a half lengths behind the winner when returning from a 28 week break, but he did not get the clearest of passages in the home straight that day. He now returns from a shorter 14 week rest, during which time he was gelded, but he did win his only barrier trial to prove his well-being. He is sure to put his pole position to good use. O’MUDGEE showed solid improvement to win his last start over 1100M by one length when returning from a 19 week absence. He only got a clear run at the 230M mark that day and was finishing off his race well. He jumps from draw six and should be right there in the mix.

Race 7.

MENSA MISSILE has shown marked improvement in his last two runs, resulting in a one and a half length victory last time out over six furlongs. He took the lead at the 300M pole that day and then strode away from the balance of the field to post a comfortable win. He has his peak run here after returning from a 22 week rest and from gate five, he will be looking to chalk up his third career win. Two 3yr old fillies are taken to chase him home, with the slight preference going to SO FAR AWAY who is drawn one outside the former and followed up her win over 1300M three runs back with two third place finishes over six furlongs, the latest when just under a half length back from the winner. She attracted plenty of betting support that day and stayed on well over the latter stages of the contest, suggesting that the extra ground on offer today will be to her liking. ELEUSA has only had the four runs to date, recording two wins and two second place finishes. She came five wide into the home straight last time out, but still won her race by half a length. She has a cozy draw two and should not be overlooked in this line-up.
